The first time I went off-road I tore out the little plastic nut inserts on both front flaps because they have absolutely no flex. I replaced all 4 them with 3/8" insertion rubber cut to the same shape as originals to keep them legal. Made some metal brackets to secure them properly using the original holes - a bit of messing about but was well worth it. Haven't had an issue with them since.
