Bleeding brakes

you might like to keep the brake pedal strokes about as deep as you would while driving, rather than pushing it all the way to the floor.

The theory is that the master cylinder past where it is normally used may be rusty and cruddy, and working in that area may damage your seals.

Clear jar some clear hose is needed.

you will need to put some clean brake fluid in the jar about 25mm. The hose needs to be imerssed by the fluid in the jar and connected to the bleed nipple.

NOTE Keep an eye on the fluid in the master cylinder if it runs dry you will need to start again.

You just put the rubber hose on the nipple and crack it open 1/4 turn and start pumping your brake pedal. It has a 1 way valve on it so it will not let any air back into the system.
The new fluid I bought was blue so it was easy to see once the old yellow fluid had been expelled into an empty 2 ltr coke bottle, stop pumping when all the air bubbles are gone and tighten the nipple back up :) Just remember to keep topping up the reservoir.

Took me about 30 min to do all 5 nipples and about 2.5 bottles of fluid

Just keep checking the rubber hose is attached to the clear tube! Mine had come loose and squirted brake fluid all over the driveway !
