Decisions decisions, anyone got a winning xloto ticket they are willing to pass this way :P them could just buy one of every option in the garage and just take the one suited to the situation.
thank you all for the information and giving me more to think about, now i just need to work out what we are going to compromise about and suit us best, whether it's quick and easy but less mobility or time consuming and more mobility.
you always have all of the above..never have too much camping gear..over time it's amazing how much gear you can gather for a good camping trip

So how do people go with say 2 adults and 2 young kids in the roof top tent??
When their older they'll be in there own accommodation.. Either a small tent or swag. What ever. So it's purely say kids up to 10 years old??

Nope never done it always had a big tent or a camper trailer but have come across these guys, Austrack campers, they used to be in Hervey Bay but moved to the sunny coast. A mate has one of their roof top tents and it is still as good as new even after a few years of use. I think the width will be a concern with having 2 kids in there as well as most of them are only 1.4m wide (but that won't be the mattress width they are usually 1.2-1.3 wide). Not much alternatives maybe an awning with walls or a pyrimad tent. Having
60kg or better up high will put your fuel figures through the roof. At least with a tent
you have the option of just leaving with out the need to basically fold up your campsite.
Ive seen those Magnillino ones in the flesh with the hard lid but again you
have to climb a ladder to get into them. The AMA states the anyone over the age of 40
shouldnt be climbing ladders, and with a RTT you'll be doing it at night and maybe over the limit lol
doesnt make any difference to my fuel consumption but thats what happens when you get bigger turbo and more boost
