Deffently block the egr, but while your at it I'd be fitting boost and egt gauges if it doesn't have em, to keep tabs on what the motor is doing.
Also 10-12 thou is nothing for these engines. They are built like brick houses.
Just do a quick search (top right) for oils.

Thanks mate for the info. I did a little bit research on the egr, but got mixed views from some people. But I want to do it regardless. Future mods, are going to be a little while in the making, just need to put the funds together. Two inch lift, 33s, led light bar, winch, power outlets in the tray, I really want to go 3 inch exhaust. With egt gauge with boost. Diesel fuel filter. Turbo timer. A very big list that won't happen over night.
