Got me thinking about rolling the paint on my Torana now
Looking good mate.... I once painted my old Nissan Urvan in undercoat with a roller brush, was such a shit job... I was proud!!
Looking good, suppose it all in the prep work. As a good spray painter is worth gold,
great video TimE, saves buying compressor and all the paint over spray going every where
Two thumbs up for sure
What do painters charge per panel? $300-500. At a rough guess,
Id say it has costed me about $30 to do the bonnet.
Gave the bonnet a wetsand before with 600g and a recoat and it's starting to look like glass. Still a few sections that need improving but I think this will come with subsequent coats and wet sanding. Looking promising!
Coat number 8.
You can see the light in the reflection which also highlights the imperfections. There is also a "dry" roller mark you can see, which I've noticed only happens on the 2nd coat after a wetsand, so just like the video on page one, I'll finish with one thick coat after a wetsand.

Hard to see, but there are the occasional spots of fluff and dirt and what not that is inevitable. Just a matter of wet sanding them off when it's dry.

A bug landed on side part of the bonnet. I was acid!

Looking good mate, is it time consuming? All the Sanding must suck lol
I wouldn't worry too much about imperfections looks good to me. You'll end up scratching the hell out of it in the bush anyway...lol
Haha true that.
Yes the sanding is a pain! Infact so much so that I risked the last wet sanding effort by using an electric palm sander and a spray bottle, and it was magical. It did the job effortlessly and left no scratches and I didn't electrocute myself or anything.
Lol lucky for you you have a gq and most of the panels are flat so you can use the sander!
