bronze filter in the fuel line banjo bolt on the rear of fuel pump 99 diesel

Hi guys . Iam new to this forum . I have a rd28 and has rough idle that changes revs on its own . Iam suspecting a faulty injector pump . Is there anything i can do to diagnose and fix issues. Apart from buy a pump
