That style jerry was an option on 83-84ish Pajero's ,
Pricewise they were $250 I know that as I wanted one
and looked it up. Can't remember seeing them on Nissans
If any I'd say the G60 with the bolt on swing away frame
some had, maybe even early leaf wagons.
Cant read pics but does it have Nissan reference on sticker??

Gday all , there is a Nissan symbol top left corner on the pic with the sticker " FUEL 20L - Danger Fire Prohibited". I cant find any other markings , number etc anywhere. My brother had a couple of G60's years ago and i seem to remember some sort of a carrier for a jerry on the back . I can't even locate another pic of one so if anyone can help me with a direction to start in that would be great. I have thought about taking it to the local nissan dealers here in Hervey Bay to see if they know anything about it ?

It certainly is a curious thing,
It looks like a cross between the standard metal jerry cans with the flip top lid and the new plastic style made by Scepter that have the spout, screw cap and flat plastic stopper.
I wonder if it was for an overseas model and just happened to find it's way here.

Gday , It does have the basic shape and design of the standard jerry's that are everywhere but I have never come across one with the cap and spout as on this one, I was thinking that it might be an overseas one as mentioned but still haven't been able to locate any info.
Definitely a curious one that for sure.

and positive it was around 1983-4

Gday all again. anyone got any other suggestions for finding info re the can. Ive tried that many different variations on google , ebay , gumtree etc to no avail. Anybody??

buy this as it'll make your jerry can more expensive/collectable IMO
we used to have the exact same jerrycan when i was a kid it came with our old 85MQ with the 2.8l petrol it was mounted on the back with the spare tyre on a after market swing away bracket. they are both had now though car's gone and the jerry ended up in an accident and got squashed
Gday all , Thanks for the ebay ID and the info of what truck its off. Have had a look at the ebay item and looks good only pickup though and im in Hervey Bay QLD but will email him tonight and find a bit more about it. Will try and search out a bit more MQ stuff now and see if I cant find a pic of the holder and jerry on a truck. Thanks again for the help and anymore info greatly appreciated.
