Mate I could live with that, i love the car but just want to see if i can get it running a bit more economical.

I didn't think there was anything you could tune or adjust on the 3.0L
I think that's what the chip is for mate, but they call it a tuning box so ill stick with calling it a tune up, already got 2.5 exhaust, so the plan is to see what they can do for the car and see what fuel figures it returns after them tweaking it, at least others with the same fuel use will be able to tell if its worth spending a the money or not to get the car using a bit less fuel.
Cheers Ill
Usually Chips use more fuel not less. Their whole function in life is to get more fuel into the cylinder by either raising injection pressure or holding the injector open for longer.
Human nature is such that 99% of us use the 'extra' performance for exactly that, more grunt rather than lifting the foot and conserving gas.
Mate since I'm no mechanic and definitely no expert i wont argue with you on that point, but i do have a few mates that have had things done by the same workshop who say they have more power when needed and use less fuel for the same driving, but ill let you know when i get it done if they were hyping it up, i have the fuel figures for the last 4 or 5 months so it shouldn't take too many tanks for me to get a good idea of the difference.
Cheers Ill
Mine is a brand new stock Patrol and I get 14l/100.
Same here ronin, 2012 gu8 st auto with factory bullbar and towbar. After 15,000km average consumption is 13.9 LHK ranging from 15.3 to 12.9 LHK.
mine 07 crd 16l/100 just driving around town filled yesterday and turned the snorkel sideways and ill see how that goes as i have read thr ram air effect can increase fuel use
