After 9% alcohol it is no longer beer it is classed as barley or hop wine. It is fermented rather than brewed. Go Scotland my home country. Tennents larger is their xxxx/vb type beer at 4% instead of making a midy like gold or a like they made super larger at 9%. As for the scotch jw is shite give me a good single malt over a blend any day.
