I had this issue when i got mine , picked the car up changed all the oils and headed to inskip towing the next day , I thought it was running a bit warm , not hot though , when i was cleaning the the car when I got home i always hose out the core as they do suffer from corrision in the salt air , and was amaised by the amount of mud that came out , now sits at about qtr on the gauge no matter what we do or tow . always hose out the core .
A mate of mine gave me some advise some yrs back.
He's a radiator specialist mech.
Remove radiator "say" once per yr or 2 , clean flush etc, and repaint it.
This should add yrs to it's life.
Radiators paint is constantly being sand blasted, so to speak.
Repainting, re-protects the core.
Been doing it for a long time now and I recon he's dead right.
obviously were not talking about modern alloy rads.

Im not sure weather your model in australia in using it, but don't forget to check out the thermostat if applicable
Did yous back flush the engine block?
Drain and remove radiator flush it out in both directions untill clear water comes out.
Remove thermostat and drop in boiled water and see if it opens properly.
Flush the engine block back flush first to losen crap and again flush both ways untill clear.
Reassemble and top up coolent with fresh coolent.
Run the engine with the rad cap off and the heater switched on. (low fan, could need to bleed cooling systems correctly)
Maintain around 2000rpm untill the thermostat opens and top up level again including the expansion tank.
Check radiator cap there are set to open at a certain pressure. I believe its 0.8 atmospheres. Just go to nissan with vin number and get oe part. (oe = original equipment).
You could just take out the thermostat completely and thrn see if she gets hot.

Thanks to everyone for all your replies my mate has had his radiator cleaned out has also checked hoses and thermostat and fitted some thermo fans of a vt commodore that he modded the shroud on to fit over the whole core.We are going out next weekend for a fourby so i will let you know how it goes.
