I'm in the market for a camper trailer now. I see those on Ebay for around 5k but I'm wary on the quality. It wont be hauled on any 4x4 treks. Just taken to a camp site, like for example Sheepyard flats or a bit further on to Fry's or Tobacco flat but that would be the extent of it.
I do already have a 7 x 4 trailer with 18inch high sides but it doesn't have the 4x4 hitch and standard trailer suspension with no shocks and standard car wheels.
What would be the best way to go about this? As I use the trailer I have for other things so I don't want to convert it and then I can't use it for, trailer use.
Thanks.
Yo Mudski if you want to have a dual purpose trailer give me a PM, not as pricey as you think.
This is my camper built from scratch. Orac off road suspension and O'brien off road coupling.
Take it anywhere with confidence, tows like a dream

I would check out the other Forum "4wdaction" threads about camper trailers. Few issues around with the GIC campers a while back not sure about now. MDC look really good quality. The guy that used to rep for GIC is now Repping for MDC. (Steve i think his name was (Blue Hilux)
O.k But who is MDC and GIC?
I checked out the MDC v2 last week up at Murchison and saw them in the wind, waaaay to many spreader poles for the annexe and looked very flimsy. Their annexe fell down and the wife and I put it back up for them, turned me off the soft floors unfotunatley
Mudski this trailer used to carry a bobcat, but you need square section frame. 80 watt panel on roof
Had heaps inside as well
if i don't go the hard floor or pop top and still look at tenting, something like that trailer or similar would be good for us, load it and go
