Can anyone verify this: "It is illegal to lift your vehicle more than a combined total of 3 inches. 1 inch from the wheels and 2 inches from the body/suspension". A bloke at ARB told me.

Different rules in every state. In Tassie, believe it is the same as you said but 6 inches total. 2" max for tyres, 2" max for springs and 2" max for body.
