I think you would of kicked yourself if you had to sell your Patrol.
To others this is a patrol of a lifetime, and be treated with longevity
in mind
Its a Patrol that lifetime memories are made in
Hoses ordered. Just noticed Patrolapart have a absolute complete set of coolant hoses for sub $500, including everything!
Genuine Nissan Hose Kit Suit TD42Ti Engines with EGR
Maybe thats too extreme, so just gonna replace the big top and bottom units for now.
And the other news tonight is my clutch is on it's last legs. Been having a slight clunk everytime I depress it for a while now and seems to be more and more common, and was ad Mudskis earlier and he had a go and yeah, we think it's having it's last drinks.
Little while ago, when I was in the high country, I was having a go at this steep incline and all of a sudden it felt like I hit something, but i didn't. And realized I was going backwards with foot still on the accelerator and engine returning to idle. I guess this was it giving way.
But other then that I've had no issues with it , except that "clunk" sounds every time I come off it .
That kit looks good. I paid around the 600 mark when I did all the hoses, thermostat and caps.
So Winnie,,BA,,,Mudski and your good self all need new clutches
should do a bulk buy if you ask me, LOL
Do they have a way of testing the pressure plates there?
Not sure Mat but Clutch Industries is right around the corner and they can test them. Anyhow, it is not my clutch, is the flex join in the exhaust we think. Since this section is bolted to the gear box the vibration must have rattled the inside section lose. I will be looking closer at this tomorrow.

JPC won't fit me in till way after easter but at least then the whole lot will get done in one shot. Clutch, water pump, cooling system, etc...
Also the Cross country cooler is ordered again as of this evening too so, roughly 6 weeks of waiting to grow balls big enough to cut into the bonnet.
Went for a quick overnighter up north, first time since car was tuned. Bit more power than last time, but the EGT's were a worry again.
A lot of the time even a slight long incline id' have to cruise up in 4th sitting in high 350-400, mostly in the higher range.
Really hoping the CC cooler fixes this a bit. But other than that the car went great.
The bigger cooler will help.
Dont be to stressed about 350-400 though. Remember 500 is a safe max for sustained periods.
Ive scored 3 of those boxes over the years ,very very handy,
light sturdy what more could you want.
See they've changed the logo a tad
Yeah fair enough. I know 350-400 is ok for the motor. What concerns me more is the fact even the slightest inclines send it into that range after a while. I guess once the heat soaks into the factory IC, it becomes an issue.
For example a slight steady incline that goes for 2-3 or mo KM's. Really looking forward to the cooler now.
What would cause my rear diff to spew oil out the filler plug? Blocked breathers ? It's only started last 2-3 days....
First thing that comes to mind is that the filler plug hasn't been tightened..
But I've never touched it and hasn't leaked in the 8 months I've owned it ...

Check its tension while your checking the breather line.
G'day Hodge,
It is definitely a tough query mate. Personally never known oil rising out of the top end. Only a theory below in case your breathers are blocked.

Pressure is a strange beast, pneumatic & hydraulic combined I guess ?
Cheers MB
Thanks Mark. That is a good read. I did do 3 water crossings 3 weeks ago so.... who knows.
Ironically I was doing the oils easter weekend anyway so... go figure.
I'll also be fitting the proper breathers which I procrastinated for too long now.

If you get stuck with any fittings or hose,
Yell out I have plenty here, if required
Will find out over the weekend.
