Just got back home from Bendigo. While I was there, I ducked into Readies 4x4, and picked up a cheap spare RB30 carby. Reads are only doing the occasional ZD toTD42 conversions now.

Not the weather in Geelong today.
Finally got the OKA out for it's first trial run. A trip down to Gippsland to visit some old friends & to do some camping in our favourite spot in the Strzeleckis. All went well & even got the the truck's hubs locked in for the first time. (Nothing serious, just ensuring all works as it should)

Seeing it in action, I reckon you'll survive any where, no matter what. How comfortable is it to sit in and is it easy to get up to the drivers seat, Cuppa?
I find it far more comfortable than our Patrol to sit in, primarily due to a more upright sitting position. The Patrol's seats were very close to the floor making for a 'bent' sitting position, which was not good for my back. I don't need any extra lumbar support in the OKA. Getting in & out is surpringly easy, it's a technique thing. How long it will remain easy for though is anyone's guess. We both have dodgy knees & hips' plus I have a dodgy back, but no problem getting in & out at the moment.
Many of you read my post of last year lamenting my health issues.
I’m happy to say last Saturday I successfully completed my 20th LORNE PIER TO PUB OCEAN RACE
This is about my 70th open water swimming race in the last 22 years.
Happy with my time which was about 4 minutes slower than my best set 20 years ago.
Not aiming or be competitive (well maybe), just wanting to come out safely at the end.
Not a bad effort after severely damaging my shoulder in 2023 and a full shoulder reconstruction in October that year. Include some weird issues with my gut early last year, two cataract surgeries, and a massive rehab program keeping me out of the water for over 15 months.
Was hoping to do the 20 consecutively, I had to miss one year due to my daughter picking race day to get married and being totally out of action following surgery last year.
Very busy day with 5300 swimmers and an estimated 20,000 plus spectators.
Now aiming for a 30 swim medal, at that age I’ll probably consider retiring 😂
Good onya Jack! Does that qualify you for “shark bait” status? I can’t remember the number needed for that.
Have personally done multiple open water swims but nowhere near your number. Only 1 pier to pub but twice including a teams event.
Keep going you bloody legend!
Thanks Plassy,
Actually gives me the double shark bait medal, one every ten years. It’s bloody competitive in the old farts age groups, no quarter given once the shotgun is fired.
My claim to fame is I beat Tony Abbott by about 3mins in 2012, and proud to say I paid for my own entry. He claimed about $500 on expenses from the tax payer.
trying to find a gu manual?
