Yeah different car.
On the way home today my foot got heavy and itchy lol so wanted to see how she really dances and bloody hell she has some go now in the high end department ...
So the egts where I'd normally easily hit 400 now didn't go over 325...
However if I really sink the ankle into it she reaches 400+ quickly. ..
But I don't need to do that any more as she has much more go under lighter foot...
So fingers crossed this hpd ic works out! Looking at it tomorrow.

Awesome to hear!! Just wait till you put a different turbo and pump on, then you'll be smiling!!
Going to walk away from the series 2 HPD intercooler and scoop, that I had lined up. In a nutshell it's the one below. But second hand, off a written off 42ti ute... The setup on the car has the hpd airbox cover too and piping but that is all mangled... The complete piping from ic to turbo and ic to manifold is gone (sold)... So I'd have to source that as well. the scoop is white but has marks on it so it'd have to be repainted. Was hoping the bonnet would be ok too but that was beyond repair.
Also IC had oil on it so unsure whether it was damaged or it was leaking....
The wrecker wanted 1400, 600 below for the price i could get the whole kit new.
Anyways Back to the drawing board.
For the $ of this new kit a few extra 100 would give me the ultimate cross country package. So will have to rethink ...

Noticed this morning that Aircon ON RPM is slightly higher than it used to be... Definitely noticeable. I think normal idle revs are 600?? Usually aircon revs are up just slightly, but now they jump to 900... Is this something the tuner would have touched I'm guessing somewhere at the pump ??
Cancel the fix. .. it seems to be doing it on and off.
The vacuum valve attached to the pump could be getting stuck or something? ?
Tapatalked from S6
do all vacuum hoses appear in good nic ?
The small ac idle up diaphragm has a small screw and locknut on it. You can use this to adjust it. As 3d has said double check the vac lines are connect and havent been bumped when they have tuned it.
As you are spending Mega $$$ on this air box inter cooler set up,
would it be more efficient to say run a Water to air IC to achieve
the same thing.
What going to give you more bang for your Buck??
Thanks Matt. Once again it stopped doing it and now I can't replicate it again.
I checked all vac hoses in the vicinity and traced them around the engine bay and can't really see anything lose... Once again will keep an eye out on it.
Obviously the bloke disturbed something.
If you have a defective hose and no vacuum in the hose, you have no fast idle. It needs the vacuum to pull the lever on the pump.
Check this scoop out Eric. Might be a worthy candidate?

Hi Eric scroll down to the radiator section ,very interesting real world
issues, some sensible mods overall too, Ron's a friend so if you need extra info
just yell out
The mighty 4.2 has been parked for many weeks now. Drove it a bit to say Hi to mudski the other day and thats about it.
As per the post in happy thread. Everything is pointing to parting with her due to company car. If it eventuates, shes gone.
But no decisions made yet.
Watch this space.
You too :(
To bad these things will be outside of my budget.
Mines a maybe still... Still sort of sinking in over a few cold ones after a work meeting today.
Ironically , this happens after I priced up gear from UFI and making a deposit too, so I saved a few thou possibly lucky I didnt pay the full amount and got the gear.
Timing is everything as they say, as long as you don't end up swapping the Patrol for a Camry...
Haha you funny guy :p It's the Jewel of the Patrol crown that's now discontinued, that makes it a collectors item.. :Yahoo!:
Seriously, not really sure what it's worth, I've seen them everywhere from mid 50's to mid 20's. I never really seen such a range for the same car before.
If you do get the work car, maybe hang on to it for a while, just to make sure that you don't regret it.
Don't sell it....
Dreams are made of this ,,I mean who wouldn't like a smick 4.2TD sitting in the garage as a doer upper.
Or just drag it out every other weekend. I now what Id be doing, so this is the end of your 4x4 and camping.
doesn't sound right, Ive been going out bush camping for longer than I care to remember to just stop wouldnt
be an option for me anyway, I love my fishing and camping way too much. I love our outdoor lifestyle
Well if your company car is anything like mine you'll end up keeping it. I can't take mine outside the metro area unless I get approval from the Boss and so far that hasn't happened. I couldn't sell my Patrol its too nice to drive and I would just regret it.
No chance in hell. Love my camping. This position I might be getting into, I've been waiting for a very very long time, way before I owned 4x4's etc... And if it means a vehicle re-arrangement, so be it, but i'll still be going bush , even if it has to be set back a little bit.
As far as I'm concerned at this stage business as usual, rumbling around in the 4.2 ... Once the hammer falls and I know where I stand, then I'll make some decisions.
Ill buy your car... mates rates of course.
Where Im seeing it its like you're not just getting rid of a Patrol you're losing the ability to go
to remote places and simple sit and chill or wet a line, even my old 68 ford ute had a dual battery system
so I could get out camping. Just to throw all that away doesnt seem right you'd be miserable for the rest of your life.
Unless of course Eric wasnt really into 4x4ing then yes get rid of it so someone else can enjoy his work.
The ancient factory "cassette" player completely retired so it was time to upgrade ... Can't drive without music even though it rarely gets driven nowdays!
Lucky I kept this from the 3.0L.

Nice! Did you hook up the reverse camera?
Well she ain't going anywhere after this morning ... So good news in that regard!!
Since shes staying and about to kiss the mighty 100k on the ODO, it's time to kick the cooling system in the guts. Which I've procrastinated on for a while now.
Got a few parts today.
Got all the coolant, some belts, all the thermostat cover gaskets and bolts to be replaced including the notorious long ones...
Just waiting for another belt and the high flow pump is at JPC with my name on it.
Anything else I should do while at it ? At least top and bottom rad. hose ? The current ones look ok.
