It actually looks like Rossco is getting you bast ready there fella????
Just got home from an awesome day out.... We did not end up making it to the campsite, we had to cut heaps off trees off the roads so were way behind time. Sorry guys! But far out, Kriso and kev have I got a drive for us to do on the way!
Yeah its nice and clean now but I have a change of plans I'll call you tonight. This will be better! I think it's around 1500? Not sure. This photo was at Mt useful today. Hopefully we get a dumping between now and then. This week is meant to be cold and miserable so who knows!
Weather is looking better......

Tip tip tip......tap tap tap....
Winnie,
I assume there is no access to river water at McFarlaines Saddle?
Tip tip tip......tap tap tap....
I'm not actually sure to be honest... I don't think so
Has anybody been able to find the altitude of McFarlanes Saddle? I can't find it anywhere online, the photo of the little bit of snow above is at 1430m
Not looking good for snow up there on the weekend mate. We'll be lucky to see any unless the conditions change. Ohhh well!
Suppose we will just have to get pissed then!
I hope so...I was looking at this map of snow areas above foretasted snowfalls: http://www.weatherzone.com.au/snow/index.jsp?d=0
You can click on different days to see where the snow will be falling...Hopefully enough will still be around
temps are down all week in Melb, but snow down to 500ft did someone say. that's low
Funny because that hut we visited at the Woods Point trip is covered in snow!!!
So glad I went for a drive yesterday as it was then I realised my car is not up for the trip at all..... George is going to see about a temporary fix for the trip but hard seeing I have a busy week before heading off.
When I got home yesterday there was coolant everywhere... mostly the highway driving it does not like.
See what magic George can come up with to get me along to this trip?
Put some gold flakes in it, no long term harm
tried to google McFarlanes saddle to get elevation but nothing came up
Holy shit! Just talking to a customer at work who actually went up to McFarlanes saddle on Sunday and he said there was snow a foot deep!!
Off the map McFarlane saddle is at about 1400 mt and the hut is about 1500 mt but looks rustic to say the least! Attachment 33119
Yeah just had a look on net and it's 2011 don't know what it's like now, don't 4x4 VIC have a list of burnt huts?
Yeah I swear by it it actually works while you watch it, always in the glovebox that's for sure
I think there will be more if anything... Very cold days and nights coming with a lot of rain. So excited
Yep. The weather here has turned colder than it was today. Icy cold wind coming up from the south. Polar southerly's is what we want.
I want to make snow cones for everyone!!! Cant do that with mud....
Where the pics Winnie. You need to feed us!
I haven't got the photos that he showed me. But there was a hell of a lot more snow than I expected!
I'll have a plain vanilla snow cone thanks, none of that yellow stuff.
Bloody hell gents I am crook as a dog.....I'm going to chill out for a couple of days to make sure I am better by Friday.
I am not missing this...lol
Yeah I'm starting to get a cold but do not let it bother you! I've got tomorrow off work to get my car tuned up, so excited!
