This very annoying for me!!!
15 for us 😊🚘⛺️
Mine arrived today. Be warned that the instructions say Do NOT connect to Router. Got me going for a moment until I realised they have not updated the instructions from the Gen 2 power supply.

Ticking a few things off.
Wheel rotation. [emoji3581]
After replacing tie rods and front end bushes a little while back a wheel alignment was due. Finally got around to doing it today.[emoji3581]
Was wanting to carry a second spare on the roof. While rotating the wheels I wanted to see how I would go. No chance. Someone suggested to carry just the tyre and get it fitted in town, I think I'll go that way.

Wish I was going, but If I was heading out that far, I definitely would have a couple of inner tubes as well. I have seen a tyre with a three inch gash in the side wall that was fixed with an inner tube and a patch of inner tube rubber. The gash was tied together with those large cable ties.
I once gashed and wrote off a Mickey Thompson MTZ coming out of the Ouyen BP servo. Was flat by the time I crossed the road. Couldn’t find what caused it either. On my way to an Anne Beadell/Connie Sue trip. So if it can happen in town (annoying but not dangerous) imagine what a stray mallee root out bush can do to a trip. I always took 2 spares on those trips. There are other guys with you to help get it up and down from the roof, team effort @jay see .
Attachment 88102Attachment 88103Starlink 12v power inverter arrived from spacetek today, plugged it in and it’s off and running, fill out some crap on the starlink app and it did an update and reboot, just waiting on date a bit closer to our trip and I’ll sign into the account to start it up fully.
Also drilled some holes and mounted to Jerry can holder with bolts instead of rivets, can’t believe they were riveted on with 3 small head rivets
When you buy the Gen 3 Starlink they supply you with the router, the dish, & a 240v power supply. (ie. 240v to 56v). In a mobile situation an inverter supplies 240v from the 12v battery (ie. 12v to 240v to 56v) The 12v-56v power supply replaces the Starlink one. Main reason for doing is that my 3000w inverter/charger has close to 2.5 amps 'overhead' which adds up to a fair drain on the battery if spending long periods online. In addition one less voltage conversion should mean less 'conversion losses'.......... so overall saves on power consumption from the battery.
With Gen 3 the power supply plugs into the router only & the dish is then powered from the router.

So it sounds like it's possible to set it up & test it before you have to start paying the subscription? Did you buy the Starlink locally or direct from Starlink? I'm planning to buy locally (JB HiFi,Officeworks, Bunnings etc) as I can then install it without commencing the subscription until I'm ready, but I didn't know I'd be able to power it up & test it.

I don’t smoke any more but I always carry a lighter with me during bush drops. Burn before you bury.

I know it was mentioned a little while back, but is anyone taking this route home. Is this what you were talking about @AB ?
Don't wanna do it on our own and will these fuel stops have unleaded? My googling says yes.
We are thinking of staying at Broken Hill for a night before making our way back into Vic. https://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/foru...2024/06/55.jpg

Shame you guys can't get to Farina. It's an experience for sure.
We can tie that into a Flinders week trio soon.

Victorian members - should we organise a half way meet up the night before we catch up with the rest of the crew at Pt. Augusta? I was thinking somewhere on the Murray river near Mildura.
Woowee it’s getting closer folks, leaving tomorrow week from Perth, just about ready, transmission service next Tuesday then a final pack for departure 0800 Friday 😊
