Yeah awesome stuff , Give google a go on its history and how its made.
the real Damascus recipe is lost, so they only think this is the way it was made.
Japanese folded steel has a long tradition and it may take 10 master craftsmen to make one sword
100s of hours polishing it, yeah I love it
@ STROPP just looking at your Katana whats missing is a bit of sting ray skin. the small item on the handle is called a menuki or similar.
Some had full stingray on the handle others had cord holding the skin and menuki in place. The Menuki is for grip . I also like the swirls on
the blade like waves or clouds. Maybe you could cover it with cling wrap so you don't lose any more pieces.
@ Kallen when ever you work on a knife once you have the edge on it tape it up or make a universal guard.
Haven't cut myself yet but would think it is very easy to lose a digit. lol
Good tip TD..
Was going to leave final sharpen until last.
Yeah had a few ripped out of my grip trying to polish them , lucky up to now .
but will put steps in place to avoid any injuries
Yea good point..
@ STROPP this is polished stingray skin
Where do I get that.
Have just entered a forum KITH. (knife in the hat)
20 of us amateurs are producing a knife and come Easter Monday our names will be drawn and we send our product to one of the 19 other people and we receive on in return..
So does that stingray make nice scales???
latest addition. rescue knife with led torch, flint striker, half serrated liner lock blade, seatbelt cutter, window breaker and belt clip.
