I assume Mintabie is the community that closed. I remember seeing hills along the road after leaving Mimili and around Amata.

I haven't had an answer for several days, I will assume I was close enough or it could also be near Ernabella, Fregon, Indulkana, Kalka/Pipalyatjara.
Went through all these towns a couple of years ago for work and saw plenty of rock formations like the one put up.
Will post a new photo.
This should be easy, gets lots of visitors.
