I scored another Bonnet with the snorkel which was already cut for the through bonnet snork but as is often the case the guy have just hacked out the hole with his teeth and left it exposed with rough edges. It was never going on my car like That!!!!

Used some cardboard and shaped it into the cut and marked put a template.

Used that to trace out on an old piece of roof cut I have here and poached some panel out of it.

I got the mig out and tack welded. Played around with the welding settings alot which was great to tune it in for Panel steel. NO I took no pics of welds [emoji14]
Looks pretty good. I ground it nice and neat. I sprayed it with a primer and can see I need t9 touch up a couple of sections of weld that I ground out. There ain't much steel there!!
Looks heaps better

Darren, you are very clever dude, hats off to ya! Well beyond my skillset and certainly beyond my fear of F***UP threshold. Need to get a 240V mig tho as even with my super arc welder, this thin stuff is beyond me.
Nah I have one of those short rubber aerials from Super Cheap. I would not run anything else. It takes a beating in the bush. Yeah I scored another passenger front quarter off a guy without the snorkel hole. I am going to repaint the car in the next few weeks as all quarter panels are damaged and have been repaired. Working in rain hail n fire to build the ultimate rig...sounds like a good story...on the bright side...wont have to edge the lawn for a bit...lol
