I'm in the process of buying 4 cubic metres of sand for my German Shepherd's sandpit, and my baby is due to be born in Feb/Mar - next year. lol
Stop overthinking it, @Plasnart
My dog! I'm so excited. It's costing me a bluddy fortune, but worth it! LOL
Lashed out and decided to get into homebrewing. Bought a Morgan's kit today. Excited to see how it goes.Attachment 85906

Picked up my awning sock I had made to protect the front from water ingress and to stop the bush from tearing the cover.
Went into Aldi today cause some of the weekend specials can be mint!!
Bought a 40m roll of 5mm para cord Glow in the dark....$9

Then went across the road to BCF and bought 6 Supapeg cord brakes for $2 each. BCF sold a China brand of these in a 4 pack for $8. The Aussie ones where the same price. Happy days.

Para cord is awesome stuff, so strong for its size and weight.
I have a couple of 10m pieces coiled up in my hunting pack. Glow in the dark would be handy though!

I bought 2 rolls , same time last year. Used a few small lengths for some sideways shade cloths at ground level in the backyard, . Within weeks UV ate it for breakfast. Went dry and frail and de-stranded. So cannot recommend it for a "lengthy period of time job.
At work we use whats supposedly known as Telstra rope. I think it's got 500kg-ish breaking load. We consistently pull multi-ton cables with it and it just keeps on keeping on. So I've used that to make up a bunch of stuff like your self Darren. Yell out if you need some as kilometres of it end up in the bins after cable pulls.

Also just noticed Aldi has those canvas bags again at the moment. I got some last year and they are great for the price!!! THis year they have some different ones up for grabs.

Cheers Eric. Yeah Telstra rope is awesome a little big for Mt application but i have used it to tie down more than a few trailer loads.
Last time out swagging I was short a couple of ropes for the swag tarp so this was timely. To be fair they will never really see daylight but I take your info on notice for sure!
I did note the canvas bag looked bloody good for the price . The voice in my head said I didn't need it. What would that voice know!!! Nuffing is say!!! Could work real well for the new 24mm Kenetic Rope which is Huge packed up.
Nup, on site now
LEGENDS, FWIW, it’s illegal now to tie down loads with Telstra (Gas&Fuel/SEC-Thieves [emoji23]) Good Ropes [emoji106][emoji106]
Load covering say corner tarps lines are all good and legal but ratings are unlabelled for weight [emoji22]
Seriously TUFF ‘original’ stuff in the day [emoji106][emoji106]
Tie a hanky to it, Atlas Copco blow it straight out 100m away and then grease the conduit/cable with plumbers ‘Mirror’ and then swear at your other two for not sweating/screaming hard enough shoving like [emoji23][emoji23]

What the hell is this about @MB
LOL, I hope it is not the Mr. Hankey from South Park TV show.
I used to lay cables in a past life [emoji90] [emoji268][emoji23]

Lol... Come show some of these new age cable joiner / layers nuffies how it's done Mr MB!
Boggles me how some of them slip their pants on in the mornings let alone shove a 240mm hv cable down the orange gurgglers...
Fwiw the Atlas Copco rope trick still in use today !!!

Which brand Darren ?
My mate bought the Saber big kinetic rope at the show few weeks ago and it came in a very nice bag .
They also had a awesome bang for buck kit with rope and some soft shacklies in a bag too but they only had 50 at the show and it sold out like dunny paper! Was spewing.

I am only guessing he ties the rope to a hankie, and shoves it into the lubricated pvc then blasts it with a hit of compressed air which launches the plug up the pipe with the rope attached. If his guys dont hold on tight enough the rope flies out the end - maybe, I don't know, who knows hat he really means, could be talking about plucking a donkey tail or eating a dorito.
Make a Shute out of the hanky and tie the corners with a rope to shoot up the conduit catch it at the other end and use the rope to haul cable through, used to use plastic bags todo the same when I worked for pmg/telecom/Telstra made it easy better than pushing rods.
You blokes managed to decrypt MB!
Pretty much what Stropp said.
Used to tie a hankie or some cloth to a pull rope to act as a parachute and the blast it with "no mucking around" compressor strength.

Thought best to swap over to a fresh one and keep old as a spare as He’s now gone and convinced us Hillbillies into trialling 24v through them too [emoji123][emoji123][emoji23]

Picked up a rhino rack today very cheap with all legs, never had anything on it and 6 mths old, remove the track lander tomorrow and fit up new platform Attachment 85995
That's a cool looking rack! Is that a high backup light?
That’s a 76 series Toyota the rack came off
I bought a KLR 650 Adventure. First brand new vehicle I've ever bought https://amcn.com.au/editorial/kawasa...650-adventure/

You'll find it a very competent machine and fairly easy handling whatever your experience level. Get sprockets to suit the terrain you're taking. (Highway vs rock scramble)
O or X ring chains and a continuous chain oiler and you'll be set.
Those look like pretty "motard" tyres?
I know nothing about bikes. But that looks good!!
I followed a mate on his (I actually had to message him to ask what it is) Suzuki drx 650, around Mt Disappointment and Tallarook as he wanted to do some "light" trails after he bought it... The whole time trailing behind him in the comfort of a Patrol's A/C and seats, and I STILL thought to my self how f*cking cool would it be to travel around on that thing.
Yep they are 80% On road and 20%off road. They'll do for now. This will mostly be a commuting bike. Over paying $3k a year on car parking!
I cant wait to get out and about on it Plassy. Still 3 weeks away from delivery
If they made the DR650 still I would have gone that way for sure, but Suzy wont adapt it to take ABS which is a new requirement in Oz now
Ah. Might want to look at a comfier seat if you're just munching miles, depending how much natural padding you bring to the situation ;)
Chain oiler and sprocket advice stands.
I'm not up to speed with the oz rules. I know NZ blindly and daftly followed your LAMS (power to weight ratio for learners) scheme...which did open up some good bikes for newbies but also achieved nothing in terms of safety...
they then hiked the registration/continuous licensing costs (which I don't think you have??) for >650cc machines which made it a proper ball-ache, especially if you kept more than one horse in the stable... I mean, you only have one arse, so why do we have to pay for multiple bikes :@ Bang Head
government is dumb. rant over.
Drifta recovery kit with 15t kinetic rope which they sent separately as no stock but it looks good, I just need a rope tow bridle now and I can keep the straps as spares.
