Gadgets that sometimes put my head into a deeper state of confusion haha
You see part of the journey, now from bottom going up:
The radios are self explanatory.
Just above mic is an indicator (led/alarm) for the Water Watch _ diesel/water separator. hthttps://www.waterindiesel.com.au/tp://
Above hazard light is the Kings _ Throttle Control Unit: alters TPS signal sent to ECU/ECM (not used currently). Can work well with CRD drive by wire setup.
Round dial gauge is used to measure vacuum @ the VNT turbo actuator diaphragm (real time) actuator rod position which indicates the VNT vane aperture opening positioning within limits set. Vac gauge also shows the change rate of the vanes aperture relative to boost pressure and MAF voltage (MAF V measures by the multi meter at top of dash). MAF voltage is taken from MAF sensor (back probe connector or as I now have spliced into ECM harness). MAF voltage correlates to MAF rate (g/s) measured.
I play/trial with various boost control methods.
By the way the other two (in counsel cutout), the aux/main battery monitor plus electronic brake controller for tow.
Out of sight the (usual): EGT, Boost(relative), Oil and scan gauge.
.
Attachment 85493 ordered some rock sliders as I’ve bent the side steps a bit.
Well Done Stroppstar, they look Strong As[emoji123][emoji123]
If it’s not too late are they able to infill them for you with say Checker or small hole Dimple Die plate?
I really wish I had of taken that option on my open GU ute ones years ago.
Have nearly Can Opened the lower sills on mine twice in ruts with sticks that pricks inlay to get height clearance through.
Our front tyres pop them up and they spear head in between open sliders like mine and if unnoticed in time or too fast it’s a lower panel/door disaster [emoji26]

‘Two bolt’ rarer OEM Nissan variants are out of control nowadays, nearly $500 a pair whereas 1/2 to a 1/4 priced for any others.

That’s the last time I’ll try and be proactive collecting parts on the way home, dumping old for new replacements on clean counter tops from here on in [emoji51][emoji23]

His now retired Service of 27 years with VicPol (Search & Rescue) really Shines and even took the time to educate me on GPS included accuracy ‘A Must’ for our EPIRB / PLB contraptions etc… [emoji120][emoji120]

Can you text me his detail@mb? I think this is a bit neater than my long ram mount stick that comes off the front passenger seat bolt
Thanks Mark, I know this place, went chasing a power cord for a laptop and he had one, pulled it from a 'box out the back'
Over 800 ‘RAM’ parts/trinkets in ‘stock’ out back, I was shocked/impressed and that’s his secondary business. Fark internetty purchases, he’s a real Human Being….CARES (No Bullshit Honestly) [emoji3590][emoji3590][emoji106][emoji106]

I bought new brake pads all round. My squealing is getting embaressing, everyone turns and looks to see where that noise is coming from when I drop the kids off to school....
Also I bought a victron 100/20 solar charge controller for my 48v off grid stuff :)
I got sent to the local supermarket for a couple midweek supplies. In the bargain bin I found this little coffee grinder.

For $20 it's worth a try..http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2022/08/13.jpg

Sabre 12k recovery rope and 18k soft shackles $313, good upgrade I reckon, suited for 4 - 5t GVM
Rechargeable 12v type C connection.
Pretty quick.
Was actually $30, sorry fat fingers.
They do now.
Coles.
I brought it thinking that it would heat up a bit of water too, but it's just a grinder you have to put hot water in the insulated cup.
Returned it...

With all the construction in our local area, and the sloppy builders dropping screws, rivets and nails - I've pulled two different kinds of tech screws from my brand new tyres last week [emoji35]
Fortunately neither had pierced far enough to puncture.
So I went to Bunnings today and bought this Hart Heavy Duty Magnetic Sweep.

Did a quick couple of laps and collected this treasure trove of trash.

Less than a third of the cost of a new tyre, so should pay for itself really!
Long story short Ash Mate…..here we go, witnessed a homemade similar awesome contraption over in the back blocks of China years ago.
Passing through a Western ‘Valve’ manufacturing town, truck after overloaded uncovered truck of Swarf (steel curls/mill shavings) were spilling out enroute to the recycling depot.
Have never seen so many tyre/tire repair shops in a a row [emoji23]
That’s how China works, employment lowered by design.
Smartest thing I saw was a magnetic contraption, pedal magneto I assume under a Hard Working Ladies what we would call a Tricycle, fully loaded little tipper on Her Tri-Tipper following the Big Rigs to the Recycling Plant [emoji123][emoji123][emoji106][emoji106]

Gotta say that the Dremel is an overpriced item, but geewhiz, they are a handy bit of kit.
Rear Hydraulic winch runs a 16mm rope, so tracked down a winch ring and soft coupling slings from George 4x4. $130 delivered and 150mm dia. The 12m rings, which I have also are limited to 12mm rope and dia 100mm.
EDIT, ring is rated for 15000KG, not pounds, so OK for larger winch, happy days
Got the front room for the rv2 thirty second tent ready for cape Jaffa
Have been looking for a single din digital radio to put in the pulsar. There's not really much out there. I found this little (60mm yes 60mm deep) cheapie on eBay, bloody thing works better than the pioneer unit in the patrol. With an iso wiring harness an hour later and under $90 I'm set..
Only fault would be a bit of a delay in changing stations, but for what it's worth it's nothing really..http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2022/08/79.jpg

I bought a new double din for the GU and never use it. I just wind down the rear passenger window and listen to the Garret whistle if I want some tunes. I honestly cannot remember the last time I actually used the head unit for music. I can't even remember how to turn it on!
I'm contemplating now removing the head unit and somehow mounting my 10inch tablet for maps in front of it. Just gotta figure this part out.
