I've got this one as recommended to me by Roadrunner
http://www.roadrunneroffroad.com.au/...hi-mount-.html
Yes it is heaps bigger than a standard hook.
Anthony showed me how to splice them in, how they do it on their race trucks. I've got the exact same rope as you and he said I can either do the splice or pass that little loop in the hole of the hook, then pass the whole length of rope back through the loop and that is just as good.
You can get a little hammerlock thing to go in between too but he said it's probably better to splice it on.
Had a custom airfoil plate made for the cross country intercooler, will post some pics tomorrow as its a bit dark now. I had an alloy plate cut and two foils twisted to drop air onto the intercooler to see if it will be of benefit on egr temps, you will see what I mean when I throw up the pics.
Checked tyre pressures.
The vanes on my ARE scoop are curved and direct air to the front of the IC
I'm no tyre expert but if your KM2's were 285/75/16 aswell, how would the new shoes be bigger? Worn out to brand new is the only reason I can think off. Or the actual tyre diameter is measured not including tread depth? And the Hankooks have a deeper tread. Also 285's are closer to 32.5inch and the 305's are the old 33's. But its half an inch. Meh!
What are they like on the black top mate? Noisy? I remember years ago using Kumo's and the noise drove me near insane.

here you go taken at the shop yesterday prior to fitting, if it doesnt work i will just remove the blades.
Had plans but my youngest son stole it for the day
Hey Mudski, What do they say? Oils ain't oils -LOL!! Same goes for tyres I reckon. Even tough I have not actually measured them, you can see they are a larger diameter than the BFG's even though they are both 285/75/16. My BFG's still had about 9-10mm of tread before I changed over to the hankooks, so not overly worn down. I also have the hankooks in 315/75/16 and when parked next to a mate of mines Patrol wearing the same size tyre, 315/75/16's but in BFG KM2's you can quite clearly see that the hankooks are larger. I'm not saying there's a huge difference but it is definitely noticeable. Oh and I do understand that a 285/75/16 is closer to a 32.5" but we generally refer to them as 33's. Actually come to think of it, before I had the BFG's I had MT MTZ's in 285's and I remember thinking then that the BFG's looked smaller than the MTZ's they just replaced.
The Hankooks are pretty quiet on the road, comparable to the BFG's when new. What they are like after they've worn down a bit is yet to be seen... Or should that be heard? :D Pretty sure Stropp has clocked up more K's on his Hankooks than I have on mine which is just under 5000k's. I've found them pretty good on the blacktop in the rain too lately, considering they have no siping. I have to admit that the BFG's are a little better in the mud though.
Changed the glow plugs, very painfull but got it done. easy enough
Tips broken off two the other two were worn down, 220k on the clock first set
middle one is the new one
Can someone tell me if I should of removed the butterfly
from the throttle body or whatever its called???
Each manufacturer has different sizes, actually a 285 is the same diameter as the old 7.50 x 16 which is a 33"
Look at each tyres specs and see how many millimeters in one rotation. To say a 285 is a 32.5 is not correct,
some say its 33.2 so again look at the specs, some have a larger rolling diameter than others.
My 33x12.5 x15 Mongrels were in fact a 34' x 13", so you never can tell,
Made a start.

We've had that much rain, I actually had to drive through a couple of floodways up to the axle thingies - on bitumen roads of course!
I forgot about the stubby stick. Doh.
Note to self..... Read the owner's manual and find out what it's used for. PML.
Seriously, lots of rain everywhere, so "Take care out there"
Rossco
I can see a light bar maybe being fitted, lol
What do you think Kallen, he he
Removed the stupid honeycomb heater element from the rb30 carby spacer, lucky I did as I found a fuel line nearly split and the element had a couple of bits broken off already. I guess they've already been through the motor some time back. As for the power increase, it's amazing, it's like a new car, revs so much better, can not believe I didn't do it sooner!
Also fixed my rear guard flare that I nearly tore off yesterday when a tree next to the track jumped out and attacked me 😀
Put my BOSS coil braces in
