3000 amp through those cables and connectors. Apparently the laws of physics don't apply to advertising. But upon saying that, they are a good thing to have for emergency use.
Its simply a duty cycle issue in most regards. The 'device' will only supply what the driven device requires. My starter wont draw 3000amps, plus for the instant the current flows, the cables temp with rise with the resistance and its going to be over and done, car started. The insulation will take that heat for the highly intermittent times it is used. I have no doubt there is some marketing BS associated, and there may be an element also of prolonged capacity to it as well, don't care, just as long as the damn thing works when I need it, I am not too concerned with the physics of it .
Have a look at this one - 20,000amps!

Well, should settle today.
Two adjoining blocks a bit over 1000sqm each at Armstrong Beach just east of Sarina Qld.
Short walk/drive to the beach/boat ramp and only 10k to the golf course.
Nirbloodyvana!!!
The beast arrived today, pretty big unitAttachment 84968
Plassy, I didn't know so rang Itech and they advise the 3000a designation is actually 3000CCA, however it is duty rated. So whilst a larger battery AGM/Wet Cell, even lithium has a CCA it also has a listed reserve capacity where it will deliver at some rating (probably assume the ability to supply some cranking capacity before either the internal cells get too hot or the current is depleted to the point of either being ineffective or unable to adequately crank.. The ITECH unit is 3000CCA, but the duty point is massively lower time wise, however it is alternately linked to the number of starts at that rated 3000CCA. I think the box states the unit can do 40 jump starts on up to an 8L diesel before requiring a recharge, however unsure if these are one after another of some other timeline. Anyway, its a monster
Yeah gotcha, sounds good. I recently developed a flat battery in my 4.0L petrol daily and was very disappointed to have my fully charged peak current 600A (start current >300A) Wuldmar power pack fail to start it. Ended up with a jump start from a Landcruiser just to rub it in. I don't trust it now so need something with more oomph.
Yesterday now, honestly thought I’d wasted $75 USD downloading the complete series workshop/parts/maintenance manuals for our officially now vintage 3.0T breakout force drott/track loader beast [emoji123][emoji123]

Thanks to the puter file received it turns out after further investigations that a usual Aussie-Case backhoe runs the same torque converter sleuthing [emoji1998][emoji106][emoji106]
Found one ready in NSW ready for changeover and rolling again [emoji120][emoji106][emoji106]

Model is DHS1208
Inhave a GB70. I used it to start Roofy's car in the back yard when we did the big clean up. It had not been run for a year and the radio didn't even work. I was a little worried but left it sit a minute then cranked it into life. To Mt surprise I immediately removed it like I have before ans the car shut down. I jumped it again and left it connected for 15 minutes while the Alternator caught up.
It has jumped my GU TD a heap of times too. Jumped the GQ a few times too. As mentioned it is plugged in constantly in the back of the car so always fully charged. It's been great.
Also have the Noco GB70 that's rated at 2000 amps. Haven't needed it yet for the Patrol but I do use it to start my old Kubota tractor occasionally rather than buy a new battery for it..
My previous 400 amp Powertech, that I got as a gift, wouldn't start the tractor and also wouldn't start my wife's 2.2l TD Sorento.
This is probably your old one Stropp, it’s a 1975 model and one of its ripper’s has been customised for cable laying to a depth of around telco 400mm 🪝

Bought a new second battery to run the fridge etc, century n70zzlxhd overlander, couldn’t afford a lithium and I got a solar blanket that suits an agm battery so win win going camping this weekend so should keep the booze cold 🍻
Anyone know if they’re still selling this stuff that popped up on my Youtubey suggestions whilst searching for a free copy of Ben Stillers movie ‘Envy-Vapoorize’ [emoji90] [emoji97] [emoji383] [emoji202][emoji23]

Finally bit the bullet and bought 75mm lift Dobinsons springs all round for my older now bush ute to replace the 50mm ones with 75mm lift shocks and bump stops to suit previously fitted. They’ve done alright to date keeping my Australia wide road max height limits lift yet performance of 3” shock down travel on the tracks flexing but found they are destroying my rear kevlar socks on the airbags and have lost the protective airbag end caps when the differing spring/shock combo are completely off pressure/loose.

Very nice mate. I tried to convince the misus into one of these and she wasn’t really into them.

If they’re anything deep down under as good/same as the DMax’s Chrisso Mate you’ve Family chosen new age very wisely [emoji106][emoji106]
Mudski Mate, best to not describe any new vehicle options to ones Mrs in Acronyms……MUX could’ve put her right on the kinky back foot off the bat Legend [emoji23]

Lets see how this goes! Specs are good and 3 year under bonnet warranty. 30 kgs of lead goodness 😂😂😂
Where most batteries are made…. China ! But the bloke who sells them has a good warranty on them and makes a good point about AGM batteries, the majority of 100 amp hour ones weigh in at 23 kgs, this monster is 30. In a lead acid battery, more weight is good. And it fits the ARB tray, ar 305 mm length.
I've checked out in the book for a couple of things I was curious about like "rough terrain mode" but the rest I'll just figure out as we go.

Finally bought the last piece of the puzzle to lift our Dmax. Got the rear suspension sorted. Hopefully what I have worked out will work out and give a nice comfy ride in most situations.
Went and had a look at one of these today but didn't drive it, just tyre kicking. Jeez it's a bloody nice car mate. What are you planning to do with the wheels? Leave them road-based or will you put 17's on it (I'm told they will fit) with better offroad rubber?
Spoke with a bloke who just got back from a test drive. He loved it and he owns a 2016 MUX which he bloody loves too but starting to rack up the k's.
Ahem.....sorry Patrol forum and all...
