Added 90 kilo's of our 30 day dry aged beef to the freezer & turned out a few kilos of guiness & pepper snags to boot.
Killed 2 x 2 year old dexter steers that came out at 400kg for both. Not bad for a grass fed dexter. Sold 1 of them to friends and traded another half for 3 sheep that we can kill when we want them.

Cool room - Dexters have a great outer fat coverage so we get little black meat. Looking at them I think I could have stretched it out to 6 weeks but there were more cattle coming in to be hung so had to take them out. It is definitely one of the good things about living rural.Quote:
