I have seen big rolls of fishing line entangled with multiple corpses of seagulls, penguins and fish, on the beach. While snorkeling along the lee breakwater at Portland, you can see a mat of old fishing line in the rocks.

It must be a forest of plastic and line underwater at Namibia.
