Excellent news fella.
That is fantastic news, BA. I was hoping that the donk would come good when it got turned over. As MR says. Happy days, mate.
How's it coming along mate?
It burns oil! Just ironing out some minor faults atm
How much oil? Hopefully it's easily sorted. I'll have to come check it out soon.
I have a bit of a diesel leak I'm trying to sort out. It runs down the block and drips, worse when it gets turned off. I think it's the back injector.
Roughly about 12 -14 lt/100km :D
Yeah you were mean't to come past last friday, thanks for letting me know you weren't coming mate i didn't get ready for the weekends meet till 11pm....
So its only weeping!
Apologies for that mate. I was hoping to of been there by 7 but I had someone show up at my house and I couldn't leave. I thought you gents were going to be there working on BA's car. I was about to leave at roughly 7.15 when I got BA's text. I feel like an ass and I do apologize...
You know Peter it is a bit early to be drunk already !!!
Its funny with these conversions if wanting to do certain things right... so far not including the seals Mudski got for me I am up for about $200 in gaskets and this engine takes 10.5lt of oil plus coolant.
I purchased the hoses online and the water pump (yes I bought a real one) and belts.
Got to still sell a few items to recoup building costs.... EFI harness is a big one and should help a lot plus a few other items that all help.
Here is a little Video... notice the catch can.

Does that rattle disappear when its warm? Did you guys check the pump timing at all?
Sound good man chuck some tires on and we can go for play when I get home from work. Lol

Ok the car is home and there is still so much to do but du to some other things budget is pretty much gone... pooh.
The injector pump is not set up right at all and needs some love... a mate of Georges who is a ships diesel mechanic liked the sound of the engine but said all the problems are with either the pump or the injectors.
It breaks down over 2000rpm and blows heaps of smoke
As there is no Matty here to share the love I am waiting on Rowan to ask a well know diesel mob here for a favour/advice ??/ not 100% sure on that as all I started to hear was blah blah blah while I thought about my wife leaving me!!
When I got home Mags was frosty and she stated that she has had about enough of cars and started on me about the house.... she is right.
So today I am not allowed near the car and have to go spray weeds and hang some pictures like a good little boy.
42 years old and everyone tells me what to do..... I should listen every now and then...LOL !!!!
Well at least shes home mate. It'll get sorted out, then we'll have to go to tallarook *hint* to stretch her legs.
I've got something for that new diesel of yours too. Left it at work, will drop it off tomorrow or tuesday!
Curious I am....
So today I managed to sneak off after doing many good things to make Mags happy.
I needed to move stuff around so had to chuck the roof rack on plus also the bullbar (nowhere near as nice as mine...he he) and sorted out some little things like battery tray clamps and stuff like that.
I will look into the running like shit over 2000rpm during the week and see where I stand with some other issues.
Mudski supplied me with a catch can so also need to fit that... the more I think the more I know there is so much more to do.
Oh and Matty that knock goes away after the engine warms up..
Only managed to put the last of the air intake on after I pulled it all apart and got it all water tight.
Need to finish off the inner guard and then I can see how ab's bar lines up with my scrub bars.
Then fit the 33's... still have to wire up the lights on the rear bar and a couple of smaller jobs.
When I have some more time as nd money I will get it looked at by a diesel tuner and figure out the injector pump or injectors.

You should upgrade to a GU with a LoKKa man. Snigger snigger
Now that is a sexy/ tidy looking donk man. Just take your time and do it bit by bit, what's the rush, the bush will always be there and it's not like it is your daily. I keep telling ppl you can't rush perfection.
Been driving mine around. Sooooooo happy I converted. You will be stoked when its all good!
Wow looking bloody good jono, just like a real td42 gq!! Home stretch now bet ya can't wait to get it out in the bush. . .
What's the box where the old second battery tray was??
It's got extractors!! Don't need a turbo.
Nice one Jonny boy, Not long now buddy, you must be getting anxious but excited ey:)
As far as Readies (Bendigo) he loves the TD42 and most of the staff drive patrols.
Diesel Tec, I would not go anywhere else.
Go and see Mark first mate. Nice and close and at least see what he says.

Oh you need to read other peoples threads every now and then chopper !!!!!!!!!
Sorry Eric I had a brain fade.... I was thinking what the f$Łk is Mudski going to do???? ha ha ha ha
It's a hard thing to put a price on not knowing whats wrong with it though. A tune is probably around the $200-$250 mark.Quote:
