Got it registered, drove it home, fell in love.
Is that the final product?
Finally got around to fitting one of biggqwestys telescopic work lights. Will take some pictures tomorrow. I'd take some now but its bloody bright they'd turn out crap
Got it very dirty as she was begging for it(pic is early in the day). And had my very first brown jocks experience in the patrol. It started absolutely pissing down half way down this track and very quickly changed the scenario for us... The car literally ski-ed down that 40-50m steep section. Low 1st, absolutely minimal control, managed to keep in on the track by gentle taps on the accelerator. That little step/ridge in the photo is what sort of stopped me and gave me a moments break before going down another 30m section. Taught me a lesson on how fast things can get ugly... From lots of traction and sunny, to super drenching and zero traction in a matter of minutes.
I have witnessed Toolangi clay first hand when wet , but I have never seen clay like this (mount dissapointment). I could not walk up or down it, had to use the bush to the sides, it was just super slippery! Time for a beer now, or 7...

Well finally got around to fitting my Dawes & needle Valve with EGR Block! ( I just hope I blocked it in the right place!! Going into intake manifold at top of engine? The easy bolts to get too?) Anyway extremely impressed with the result!! Max boost set to 15ish PSI & pulls quickly & super smooth!! Still abit of fine tweaking to do but that's a working progress!! So thank you all for all the posts I have read!! Mudski Chaz Yellow foot & everyone else!! Its like a totally different drive now!! Well happy!!
I had twin locker at the time , so locked everything , mate was in a Rangie in front and just before reservoir track he slid in the ditch,
he had enough onboard to push him out. One time I was turned around and made my way back to the top [full noise] to
start my decent again, One time going up a SA hogged the road as the unwritten law is give way to ppl going up, gave him a mouthful made me happy. Only go to Tallarook when its raining, no fun if hot and dusty, march flies everywhere
Ill take the dust over mud anyday.
Haven't you heard 3d's? Mudski is scared of mud now
Change his name do Sandski. lol
On a serious note, Mudski loved mud on our last outing. Name suits him.
Not scared of it. I just know the cost behind it. Lol. Tis what hpens when your easily coaxed into bog holes.
I still do enjoy ploughing through a watery pit. I just need to be more mud smart about my driving habits.
Having said that, back in my dirt endouro days, i really loved the dry dust. Then smashing a river crossing and getting soaked. Mud just slows you down.
Wat did I do... Pulled the motor out.. N pulled the motor out of my donor vehicle :)
Flushed the clutch and brake fluids
Yeah Turtle. . Be good to see it all...and then out onda tracka when done...
Plan is to finish off my rear cargo shelf, ready for powder coating on Tuesday
Last night I did the GU hub nut upgrade, bloody heaps better design than the GQ system
I max 12000lb winch fitted to winch cradle. winch $399, cradle $295 lets see how long it lasts. my theory is if it pulls me out of the sh#t once and dies it has still paid for itself.Attachment 58560
Made a bracket for the ECU talk and fitted it up. Took a whole five minutes....

I then contemplated installing the new squirters, glow plugs and clean inlet manifold, but its too bloody cold in the garage...
That is nice mudski. Gonna have to reposition mine in a similar way to yours. I like it.
Cheers mate.
I just had a piece of black pesrpex here, got the dremel out and cut a section off, got the gas soldering iron out, put the torch tip on, put the plastic in the vice, heated up along the perspex and bent it up. I had some tiny bolts here to attach the bracket to the display, then some double sided tape to stick it down on the dash.
The bracket really needs a small foot at the front of it too as the weight of the ECU talk wants to pull it forward if you know what I mean. Dunno how long the tape will hold though.
I've parked the trol in the MUD at work.
When trying to go home i got stuck :-).
Driving home with mud on the side just for fun.
i finally changed my leaking intercooler and went from 16.8l/100km to 12.6l/100km . yep should have done it 2 years ago..
