Brought myself a universal GME stainless antenna mount, I have a feeling that no GU scoop is working
at 100% because of fitting a bull bar.
The uni mount will go on the top rail of the bull bar in the centre
onto which Im bolting a piece of perspex to guide the air onto the bonnet better.
As it is now it just goes over and down the grill, according to my cotton tell tails I blue tacked on.
Worth seeing if it makes a difference, we'll see.
I dont have a bonnet protector, IMO a waste of money, I have some clear MYLAR tape 60mm
Iron man must do a multi fit bar if you can adjust it 50mm. GU bars have about a 19mm to25mm gap
on the front guards to the bull bar to allow for body roll, apparently the rubber body blocks are very soft.
I'll try the perspex so far its cost me nothing, and if it works I'll look at a more permanent solution.
gotta work first lol
Absolutely nothing, haven't seen it for three months, Geez I miss it. Sorry dear, I miss you too.
Well. Took the dunga for a spin for 10 mintues. No leaks! The smell of coolant must have been left overs from the explosion. Still don't trust it though. Being a trust worthy ZD30 and all. I will be keeping a container by my side of Petrol and some matches to light a bon fire if it turns south on me.
I really need a shitter, other than the one I'm driving, as a daily so I can park it and do the mods that take more than a few hours to complete. I have many on the list and just can't get them done. Anyone got a daily I can buy, cheap of course....That'll make the missus happy.
Wrapped it up in cotton wool!!!
3" rear dominator 200kg coils & Firestone air bags
x 4 Toyo Open Country II on CSA rims (that were on the 'trol) when I bought it, keep the HT for on-road touring.
Like to mount rear spotting, going to do some searching for how to get a wire up there, could use some old waterproof marine fittings I have but those will take a fair bit of time to route and mount.
Took Arthur out for a spin and no coolant leaks. Also dropped in at a mates workshop and got the engine light error removed too. wOOt! We're back on the road. Still taking tools and water with me though, just incase.
New brake pads and fluid.
Why would one side have worn down more than another?
pushing to heavy on one side of the break peddle
Finished wiring up my winch after having it sitting on the garage floor for months. All ready for the toolangi outing coming up.
Sweet should be good fun. Seems nearly every one will have a winch at least, I think there is only one car without one
Tipped in some Catrol T2 and some Wynnes injector cleaner,
picked up some cans of gloss black for the roof rack,
hopefully I can get some bodies around to lift it on.
Let the missus drive the "Dato" around on her day off ( aw christ! ) I guess she can't break it, can she ?
I have a theory/ idea of why?
A few days before I changed my air filter lid seal. And when this happened on the freeway, I noticed as soon as I popped the bonnet up the hose that runs from the top of the radiator to the top pressure tank on the LHS move. My only theory is that I had somehow folded or wedged this hose and blocked of the hose. There for not letting the radiator and cooling system relive the excess pressure to the top tank. The pressure was so great in the cooling system, the bottom hose clamp, which is the OEM spring loaded clamp type, opened up momentarily, the excess pressure was relieved( hence the coolant all through the LHS wheel arch) and then simply closed up again once the pressure was gone.
I was bloody lucky I didn't bust anything.
If thats all it is mate you are very lucky. I guess no TD42 transplant after all
I think you mentioned that when it first happened. Lucky it shut down in time
My new[2nd hand] roof rack has now been modified, lights fitted
F&R and sprayed gloss black, as Matt black turned to shite very quickly,
and is ready to fit, Have a few coming over to lift it on this arvo, well thats the plan.
Taped some "U" shaped rubber for the feet to cushion the gutters.
As it came off a GU it should not need any adjustments, the wait is on lol
Wired up some reversing lights, can't wait for it to get dark so I can see how much light I have
Replaced belt and tensioner pulley.
Belt looks fubar so another call to patrolapart tomorrow and order that
Tell ya what there was no way known that bastard was gunna be moved with a ring spanner to take the tension off
Fitted up the 37s and fitted new brake pads to the back of the GQ!! Need to rethink the flares!! No where near it!! These Treps are huge!!!!
Installed the tweeters /piezio speaker about mid way up the Pillar moulding what a pitb job.
think I'll go to the speed shop and grab a can of spray paint to match the moulding.
Over all happy with the way it worked out, I'll put a pic after I spray them
