Depends mate. This year we paid an extra 1k for three of us to go Adelaide-Singapore-Samui took about 7 hours off our travel time. Well worth the 1k. There is no direct flight to Samui from Oz it's only a small airport so can't handle big planesQuote:

The problem going through Bangkok is that if Bangkok Air flights to Samui aren't full they cxl flights until they fill one. C@nt of an act that can delay you by 4+ hours. Bangkok air own the airport at Samui
