Thanks all - but I wasn't writing this for sympathy - more to try and prove that some of those nasty rumours about smoking (and it's dangers) are quite really, and affect normal people like us.
For any of you approaching 50, and have kids . . . . . . . . try to imagine saying goodbye to them.
My step-mum has 3 kids, 3 step-kids and 8 grandkids under the age of 10 . . . . . . .
stick with it all you folks who have quit . . . and for those considering/trying to quit - go for it! You have nothing to lose, but alot to gain!

one downfall I am a Type 2 Diabetic and controlling my weight since stopping smoking has become hard.
Now on Tablets for my Diabeties and have a new goal to control my Weight to get off the Tablets.
Still giving up smoking has been the best decision I have made. (Other than buying Patrols)
haven't had one in about 2 years. Woke up one day and just didn't want one, the thought made me sick, and not been tempted since.
