Yeah, they definitely go for function over form. My utility knife has about a 5mm spine and full tang, reckon I could batton a tree over with it.

sort the Mauser out ?
My S&W tanto neck knife came in late yesterday, have to say not impressed at all.
Very light, blunt and a biatch to sharpen as is it only a half sided partial curved blade not true hollow grind or twin bevelled edge. Can't use my Smith's sharpening system on it so will have to resort to my diamond pen to carefully edge it.

bummer I'm watching Utube bits on my Buck 119br Cocobolo knife,
everyone says its a great all round knjfe and has had the same design for 47years
saw some EECE tactical knives think I got that right looked like a good knife.
Looking forward to playing with the Kukri, not sure about putting a Kukri up against a Winchester Bowie.
To me Bowies are more Ornamental than practical especially those Gil Hibben old west numbers.
I'll put a picture of my Buck knives only cause we love picture, and Irish is on board as well now.
I'll even dig up a pic of one that customs stole from me Twice, thieves.
cant find a pic bummer of the two fixed blade the Phenolic handle is as cheap as chips
less than $20 compared to $100 plus for the real deal, which I brought from that shop in Tassie
Who's a happy Camper WOW Jas I could not have envisioned it looking anything like this.
A credit to your skills, awesome mate awesome, That's better than a shop one any day of the week.
A bit of stubbins on the stitching and its done. but WOW again thanks Jas.
and I will use it for my Schrade folder[as pictured] and I'll buy an another Buck maybe a 112 finger groove
for the other one
Also does anyone out there have a gut hook knife that works, brand and pics please
Thats looks amazing!! A credit to your work OD!!
The Gerber skinner i got worked well but was too big for goat/lamb, its better suited for pig or deer. From what i seen and have been told in the last couple of days is the goat/lamb gut hook is only a couple mm in size so you don't pierce the stomach

That Gerber set looks mint. Cheers for the praise :)
Will take a pic of the knife and different sharpening sets I have.
TD, the thread is waxed nylon so should hold up, I did dubbin both of the sheathes before I sent them, glad you like them. I had to guess the shape when I burnished 1 of the sheathes and used munchkin 110 copy to shape.
Gecko just came round and had a look at the S&w blade and agreed that it ruined a top blade but will do some more work on it with the diamond pen
Here is the knife and some of the sharpening kits.
