new tools after theving c@#$'s cleaned out all my spanners socket sets etc from my ute sunday nite
H/D Front and Rear Adjustable panhards
Bought a high output soldering iron for all those cable connections using large cables and where absolute connection certainty is required. The finished quality of the tool is poor, mine came with missing screws and was actually damaged in transit

due to inadequate packing materials, however after a bit of stuffing around I got it working. It takes about 10 minutes to reach soldering temp, but once there, cable size such as on winch or dual battery connections are a breeze. Recommend it for the workshop - unsure what size inverter you would need if wanting to use it mobile.
Didn’t buy today but it turned up today... Reduction gears 63%

Now to find the time and courage to fit them.

Keep the old bolts in the car as spares mate. On a Licola trip Sprock and I did last year he managed to lose a bolt, one of the real long ones too on a track. We eventually found it a few hundred metre back but had to pillage my Patrol for the right sized nut to secure it back in.
I am really not sure how we would have gotten him out if we didn't find that bolt.
Funny you should say that as I purchased the new bolts from Patrol a Part and they seemed expensive until I tried to get a spare set using commercially avail stock from a bolt supplier. The PAP factory genuine units are half the price of the generic ones. I have since purchased a pair for spares from PAP. Unfortunately I will have to destroy the drivers side front/long bolt as the belly tank is nestled right up and past the bolt in the direction it needs to be pulled out. I am not dropping the tank to get it out, so the angle grinder will take the head off and simply reverse the installation so bolt comes in from the outside to the nut. I think @AB and @Rossco went this path also when they mounted their tanks.
In case anyone does go the external supply route, you need M14 x 90mm and M14 x 180mm long bolts and the respective nuts.
You will have to cut a few mm off the new bolt when installing the other way around too mate. I had to remove that bolt over the weekend too and had to take off my rock slider to get it out but that is a lot easier than dropping the tank.

Thanks Winnie, alway good to get a heads up and not have to backtrack. Where are you up to with the conversion?
Let's not go there! Had a stoush of bad luck and keep losing days.
Rear diff is under the car, just waiting on new seals so I can put the axles in and drop the rear off the jack stands so I can lift the front and get started there.

Baintech 12 way fuse block
A series 4 Y62 Ti...
Drove past a Dealer on Monday and saw it with a price that said "Stop E.T. STOP, you have to come in and buy me!!!"... so I did.
Me likee velly much, me love long time !!!
I think the missus has been reading about Peebees exploits.
We're now the proud owners of 4 new cushions. I'm soooooo excited my heads gone all dizzy
It's sittin' in my driveway as we speak, picked it up at lunch time... did 100 odd k's from dealer to home at average speed of 84 (mostly freeway) and averaged 10.4 LPH (be the last time I see that # tho I reckon).
Jeez the factory Zorst sounds like shyte so that has gotta go... if it doesn't scare kids and cause miscarriages when you metal it I don't want it
Let the build begin... :-)
We went out for dinner tonight, walked past a furnishing shop - "Oh, just want a look in there" - so she found a throw rug for one of the bedrooms that no one sleeps in, just had to have it. Then, she turns and walks towards a couch full of BLOODY CUSHIONS. At this point my alter ego erupted and I 'apparently yelled, NO MORE BLOODY CUSHIONS'and the entie shop went quiet. Wife looks at me in disgust, walks to the register and buys the rug, We are now at home, physically separated by 100ft of house and a cone of silence - I am in heaven!
Or he might be sleeping on that rug tonight.
In a bedroom that no one sleeps in.
Until tonight. Lol

I have no issues with anyone using it... But my olny conditions are if it runs out of gas go get a fresh bottle....
I'd be bloody pissed if i went to use it and it was empty!!
Left side is a gas bbq an the right side is a smoker/solid fuel... I've been walking past it for weeks at ALDI sitting on the tight arse pallet and went for it. $250 down from $400 apparently.
GME XRS compact CB arrived... jeeeezus they are compact all right... the TXR is about the size of a pack of ciggys... the handpiece is bigger and heavier!!!
Out of the box... very very nice bit of kit.
The Display is awesome, nice touch that GME have included an RJ45/RJ45 connector in case one needs to extend the Mic cable.
I know they are only like a $1 but saves having to source one if needed.
Still need to SWR the install so haven't done any 'rubber duckin' yet.
Yeah when we buy the new car I think we will go for that model. I would want something like this so the mic can be stored away and you would not know there is a uhf there at all.

The "UHF" is a give away tho (just jokin') altho the one on mine is unlabelled an RJ45 socket in the dash is usually only for a Radio
I went the 330 'cause I got it for $350 on a one off deal.
Finished the SWR and highest is 1.7 (not that SWR is usually anything to do with the set) so happy with that and performance seems excellent so far.
Also gotta say that the access to trim etc on Y62's is very user friendly... most comes on and off in a jiffy
Bought a second hand X-Terra 705 metal detector for a bargain!
I'm going to be rich with all the nails and bottle tops I find, can't wait!
An Ultragauge,
3 new kitchen mats and a mop bucket (no, you actually don't want to know) and;
a Ford Escape
