Took these couple camped on the Lynd River, NQ.
Milky Way across the river with light from the fire on the trees.

Looks like a moonlight effect .
Good stuff
My very first outdoor photo with the new camera. I reckon I should get better once more familiar with the camera, but nevertheless was pretty pleased with it. As shot other than a minor crop. Can anyone tell me what sort of boat/craft it is, I have no idea of it's purpose.

Well that appears down near queenscliff. Booms indicate fishing vessel (prawner?) but bargy hull doesnt match. Thats a weird one mate. No trawlers in port phillip since the scallopers were banned (and they didnt use booms). Also thought channel netting was now banned. Good question!
It is very good
Have been playing around with Astrophotography lately & have had some good results so decided to to have a go at a multiple photo image. This one is 24 individual photos stitched together to form one image. The pic is a 180 degree view(NE - SW) from the lookout above my home town. The Moon was about 1/4 & lit up the ground.
The program I used to stitch them was Microsoft ICE (Image Composite Editor). The program can also capture panoramic images from video similar to the way some Smartphones capture panoramas(and it`s free).
Each photo was a 30 second exposure at f3.5 & 3200 ISO.

Chokie the watch dog on duty.
On the way to Peterborough, SA.
Naaahhh, they actually like each other's company too much..Common around here.
This Rosenberg's Monitor was just by their run two yrs back after a big wet period, must have come down from rough country up behind(followed the creek down).
Only saw this one once and think odds may have been different.
I have a monitor, but I think it`s a different breed to the ones you have @Bidja .
Have read there are 26 recognised species of goanna or monitor lizards in Australia. It is said the Rosenberg's are ground dwelling but sightings of these are also reported in the Namadgi Nat Park hanging out up a tree. Reported as vulnerable in NSW.

This area we have the Lace monitor as well.
@Bidja My computer is hopeless with out one I believe.
Here are two photos of different monitors, in the Woowoonga NP, Qld. The monitor that is on the path was taken with a 55mm lens and I wish I had a 300mm at the time, it would of made a good photo better. I remember both were huge.
Foamy Icebergs out at Steavenson Falls this arvo followed by piping hot Igloo Roadhouse burgers beside their Coonara, toasty delicious [emoji106]

Nice, you see much snow about thought it would have been a good weekend to sneak up the close hills and enjoy the arctic weather if it wasn't for renovating the bathroom. .

Nah, baldish tyres on mate, we only kept to lower altitudes, a hoard of drivers were coming back down from Lake Mountain area still covered in snow though.
The Foamberg I reckon might have been twirling atop of the inlet pipe for the downstream new little cross turbine hydro electric station they’ve installed for night walks and electronic remote parking pay stations now :-)

I got a soft spot for the D40's. My daughter who is 16, wants to buy a ute for her first car. She loves camping and is horse crazy. I'm secretly hoping its a D40 she likes. But she's old school and has a thing for the Subaru Brumby. Probably because of the name.
I can't fault it as a soft roader/tourer which is what I got it for. Good on fuel, comfy for long trips, good cabin size. Factory winch just in case...

Your good self and your mates can’t surely be Asian though, not that it ever matters, just noticed too many “4’s” on them culturally unlucky plates brothers ;-)
