Flee George! Save yourself and run! It's too late for us poor fools!
@ GKO I see the Cold Steel Tanto arrived looks very nice indeed, gee the Gil Hibben is a horse of a knife lol
Question is that Kukuri ? knife got a bit of age to it ? Two Tanto Eh!,
I've seen "U tube" video of cold steel Kukuri? knives cutting through 20 bits of sisal rope taped together very affective indeed
I'll be all right mate, i have strong will power i'll limit my self like my fishing gear and my cars.......
Yep! I'm doomed lol!!!
My old man made this the other day so we can hang the carcasses and turn them while processing. I'll go during the week and buy some stainless and make more. The bottom is stainless but the rest is a head bolt thru a bigger nut to turn and some rod to reenforce it

Ive made heaps of those great for dressing carcass's
Made a swing away arm for the BIL's ute when we went hunting
up NSW way. Could hang the body on that, made processing
very easy in the field.
Just thinking would be easy enough to make a portable one to fit the to hitch receiver.
Edit, heres another Pic of my fillet knife, with more practical scales , some type of diamond point ABS
Good price for Cold Steel plus the shipping is cheap as well , shop is worth a look IMO

For what i'm using the hanger for i'll be better off making a few of them and hanging them off a tree on in a shed to drain out and process.
I should be getting most of my knifes this week intime for the big carve up next weekend.
Apart from using the steel, should i do anything to the knifes to prepare the blades in anyway ??
Not really the angle you sharpened them is the angle you need to steel them too.
Main reason butchers don't lend knives as you steel naturally differently to say me.
Don't saw with a knife if you have to sharpen the knife. Don't force knife , you know all this
anyway, might need a stainless glove?
4x4 Australia Mag are doing a piece on survival knives in the coming issues, Its a follow on from last issue. I'll keep all informed,
My Jade sharpening stone arrived I need to repair some marks on a Samurai sword, Some good articles
this issue,
Saw both my GP and Surgeon today to say they are ticked off with QBE is beyond belief.
My surgeon is sending a very stern letter with phases like we are ppl not numbers.
and how long does he have to suffer before you PK the procedure and marked Urgent
fingers crossed
The kukuri is genuine and is one of my favorites. It has an edge you have to feel to believe and, having used it in the field to chop and dig, it just keeps going! (I have neglected it for a long time and need to remedy that.)
The smaller Tanto I have, from Cold Steel, is on youtube cutting a 1 1/4in free standing manila rope in a single horizontal slash. The punched through a car door and the cut on the rope preformed again. Its why the Tanto IS my favorite.
Awesome ,I've seen the Utube on the Kukuri cold steel cutting the rope.
The choice of the be-headers lol. That piece of jade I just got is for polishing blades .
mind you don't get much Jade for $10. but I have some marks that I need to remove
and hoping the Jade will work, Even those twin water stones might do the job.
The mob that do the survival range are called Heiman Habitat in conjunction with Fox Artistic Creations
They are doing a blade for trade test soon, Also a great bit of reading from the guy who invented the Leatherman multi tool
and a bit on Bear Grylls Survival knife [Over priced Gerber]
