You don't ever need an invite mate, you know were I live, just show up
I'm trying to get my dash cam to work, but it won't.
I bought a 64gb SD card, and for whatever reason, it won't work in my dash cam.
It says 64gb on the box but when I checked it out, the memory is only 59.7gb. Could this be the cause of it not working?
At the sake of sounding like an Uber Geek, there are 1073741824 bytes one Gigabyte but with formatting, you loose some data which is why drives and cards etc don't ever format to the size on the box.
A couple of things to consider with your card - is it formatted to the device? If not not sure how you would do that (think camera formatting there's likely to be a menu option) and / or do you have a known working SD card? Is it for SD or HD cards (yes, there's a difference) also check the data speed, a slow card might not work (HD cards tend to be faster).
Have a read of the destructions that came with the cam - it should have an indication of what to buy.
hi mate, do you mean HC? not HD? ive never heard of SDHD? Also, the Class is actually what is representative of the write speed, so Class (10) which will write at a sufficient speed for 1080 recording, will be much faster than a Class (2) which will not have a write speed sufficient to write 1080 or even 720. Class (2) is pretty much only good for basic compact cameras.
You are absolutely right RN, I hate typing with my iPad. Good point too on the class mate.
