Bumpin this for Brando 4X4
On a side note.......... for a Tojo driver Danny sure does a lot of work on the Nissan, must mean only one thing....he knows the Tojo won't make it so leaves it at home *L*

Patch, the lead car on this trip is an 80 on 37s. Nothing broken on that one ;-)
The lead car just did an air locker line

A torn air line isn't quite the same as a complete cv AND the opposite axle. Thought these Nissan front ends are supposed to be tough.
We are all bloody limping now! Lol
I think the group is up to 10 beads off. A Uni, 2 winches, an axle, a CV, a winch rope, a few panels. Damn!

Sorry Brando I did not see your post before mate.
It is made from Nylon and I bought it from a plastic place (resiplex) then drilled it in the drill press with a spade core bit then a jig saw will get it done. I then used a bench router to put a radius on all the edges. Easy if you have the right gear.
The Nylon was not real cheap though to be honest and I probably on saved $50 over buying an alloy hawse fairlead which are an off the shelf item.

Brando I reckon the nylon is 25mm and it was a blank block
Here are a couple if pics taken while waiting for the 80 to sort out his air locker

Not my 80 this time Patch. I'm in as Navvy for Darren. Someone had to run his winch cable out all weekend.
You started it old mate..lol
Hang on a sec, remember when I finaly found my gq and I got home to start a post and suddenly mr started one on my behalf...
Dog of a bloke..lol
Such a good build thread then you blokes come along and hijack it on him Lol
and we are damn good at it 2 *L*
MR don't put up with this
It's not like we hijack everything! And when we do it's usually closely related to the original post and still quite useful to someone. Like how this post started out about stuff ya know
Double Tap
Just got out of the bush in Paddy's swamp where we did some winching and some hill climbs and flicked a heap of mud

Yeah I have to admit I did have a chuckle rolling out. For $40 they can shovel it up and put it in the dump master.
Damn now it's clean there is a few nasty battle scares now.
Top read and post that.
Cheers Illya
Thanks for the info on the fair lead mate sorry about the late rely just check up on this thread again
Very nice truck mate!
Top read, fantastic build and a awesome result!! But mostly great because u use it to its full potential! But what i have seen the best builds start off from disaster and reflect the builders capabilities. Good on ya bud keep up the good work.
whats next for the Q?
Working on using it and trying not to wreck it! Bloody hard though! It's getting a flogging LOL
Last run out I smashed 2 CVs in 12 hours and snapped a brand new plasma rope !
Love it!
Actually looking to change the suspension ! Going to rip out the dobenson springs and suspension stuff shocks in favour of a the new Amada Extremes and Tough Dog coils I think!
Heading out for a night run tomorrow night to Wombat for a hard run up some hills!!
Great job mate, ever think of laminating front diff or changing to GU.
Yeah if i keep breaking the CVs i will have to think about going the GU front end. I'd do that rather than going Cals Chromoly CVs and bracing the GQ stuff as the GU run bigger stronger diffs, bigger axles, Bigger Brakes (Twin Pots and bigger disks ;) ) and stronger CVs so this would be my preferred. My front Airlocker would bolt straight in with the 4.6 ratios out of the GQ too! Winner for sure. People still want silly money for the GU front diff though!! Would be keen to grab a pair of GU diffs for the best set up though. It will increase the wheel track too. going price is over $2000 for a pair of GU diffs though!!! WOW!
