The ashes are played every 2 years. They alternate home grounds each series they play. The reason they are playing back to back series is because the World Cup in cricket was going to be at the same tine as the planned series of the ashes so they brought it forward as to not interrupt the World Cup
No way we`ll get that many runs, unless we buck our ideas up.
1-0 to the Aussies methinks.
Looking very good for you now mate.
I really don`t know mate, couldn`t hazard a guess. I cannot remember the last time we posted a decent score and when we are bad, we are really bad.
I think 348 could be on the high side to be honest.
Don`t some of you guys give me to much crap, it`s my birthday today.
happy birthday mate, when we declared the poms only had to get 2.78 runs an over..So don't know if we declared to early, only time will tell..
Cheers fella.
I just don`t think we can bat for long enough. I don`t think many teams can now to be honest, one day and 20/20 seems to produce impatience and rash shots. That is not what we need, we need to dig in and somebody needs to produce a Boycott/Atherton type innings to save this test.I don`t think we have anyone like that anymore.
well you know Broad won't walk anywhere, put him in early....lol
its quite obvious whats going to happen with the poms in the second dig when the short stuff comes in them pommy eyes head south. so look forward to another bruising day for the poms, after this gotta be looking forward to the waca
Oy oy oyyyyy
GFood night uyd, i`1m pisssed and going t the flop.
probably a good ides, good night bud.Thanks.
Time for a hair of the dog
Has this become the drunk thread now?
I was too drunk to post last night and give fracster a hard time.
I remember something about a wager on the outcome of this series, hope your still game, will have to go back through the thread to see what was decided.
I recall something about a wager.
We are bloody rubbish in this match.
I need a coffee.
Its all over Now OY OY OY
I knew I could smell the blood of an Englishman I just love my cricket tests
How good was that! Funny how things can turn around so fast. Long way to go yet though.
Well, a congratulations are in order to the Aussies, for finally putting a team together that can actually play cricket. Lol.
Trott coming home due to a stress related ailment, hope the guy is alright. No sport is worth risking your metal health for.
He may have been dropped from the team. Or didn't like the sledging from the Aussies and the fans
I suspect there is more to it than that mate, might be wrong of course.
I think, for any man, whatever nationality. to admit he has a mental health problem should be applauded.
The male macho crap that is prevelant in most sports, must have made it very difficult to do so.
Don`t matter if he is Aus, English or South African, the guy needs help, has admitted it and perhaps give the guy a little credence rather than taking the piss.
I would have said the same if it was one of your guys, so no favouritism here Kev.
I agree fracster, support is what is required in this situation, not ridicule.
Hope he gets better and is able to resume playing.
At last we have a Team which is competitive .
One up is a good position to be in but I expect the Brits to come back hard.
Lets hope for a Good Series.
BTW Fracster I agree with your comments in respect of Trott
With regards to the broken arm comment, the Umps have sorted it out and some ex players should really but out,
They need to be reminded they had their go and its not about them any more.
One up gotta be happy with that good overall performance IMO
Sounds like the umps didn't sort it out, it then escalated to where Clarke was too close to a mike and ended up the patsy.
These ex players are paid to comment, I suppose they haven't got a tap on their view to turn off when the game coverage is finished.
Like it or not it is all free promotion for the next game in Adelaide, we will all be wondering what is going to happen next.
Bring it on, love our summers of cricket.
agreed ade I really hope he gets better as someone who has stared death in the face before, I understand his trauma but im going to have a little banter with you along the way, and if it were one of our guys having problems I doubt he would admit any problem he would get on the piss and punch someone in the face, hmmm. kev
banter and sledging on the field always should stay on the field ive heard some absolute beuties on the field including stuff from umpiring my sons junior cricket and all the kids in the entire comp were friends and none of them ever had a problem, so im guessing this is just the pommies way of trying to get the heads back in the game
