Same idea I had though with moving the hitch up inline with the chassis to increase the decent angle.
How does the fuel tank look? Will it need more protection without the tow bar there?
And if you don't mind me asking were did you source them locks to?

The fuel tanks on Nav's are in front of the rear diff, so no drama's there.
The over center latches (the ones that lock the carries closed) I got from Ovesco, the locks (the one's that hold the carriers open), I made myself.
