Not a bad score Jay & I see you don't mind testing its mustard either....... How far you along with the engine?
Nice score mate and nice area to play in too....
great pics mate and a lovely bit of mud too
I to would be intrested to hear more about the engine build and the outcome,as i have a complete one sitting on the shed floor at the moment.
Crikey, interesting project!
well, ive wanted some serious power out of the Maverick but didnt want to loose reliability or have the cops taking to much notice so i decided to work the spare TB42 i had in the shed. i went and met my engine Builder John Pilla from Powerhouse Engines and had a chat, we ended up with a bit of a plan that consisted of a Blu print, Counter Balance, bore out (only 1 thou), a big cam, compression brought up to 9.5:1 taken off both head and deck, fully worked head (port and polish, hardened seats, bigger valves and springs, widening water jackets ect.) lightened and balanced flywheel, 350 holley and IC&E ignition, not really leaving anything standard. now just waiting for it to start to come together. not expecting to have it going till maybe late september/early October
John has only done the Bore out, light block deck, bottom end bearings and cam bearings. and ive had a go at rebuilding the steering box so got a few pics for everyone
Top ride bud, keep the pics coming we love em.
finished rebuilding the steering box, soo much better. and started the twin pot caliper upgrade by cleaning, painting and rebuilding the calipers. a few pics to keep everyone updated. seeing powerhouse engines tomorrow night to check on the progress
have you followed up how the 350 holley will go at off road angles?
did you recon the power steering pump as well?
ive spoken to a few blokes ive raced against and they havnt had a problem, but they have had the holley built to suit their application which im doing also. extreme offroad block and bowl and the factory mechanical fuel pump will keep plenty of fuel pressure at the carby
Nice looking truck mate, gotta love a tough looking GQ
thanks mate
progress pics from Remove Enemy Number 1
John has been real busy with other motors, so its been honed and the head has been pulled down
heres a couple of update pics of the rust cut out and in primer, will be painting the colour this weekend, as for the motor not much has happended due to johns wife having a baby boy.
Very nice mate, look forward to the pics when all sprayed up!!
ive got it all painted, replaced the front two doors due to rusted out around the hinges and painted the rear bumpers. id post the pics but stupid computer wont work with me at this moment

Well done mate she'll come up apples with that much TLC. You can start on mine when your ready hahahahahahhaha
