Hi Guys, just a few photos of me fatboy. Hope I've worked out how to upload them properly
Nice Rig mate, I've always liked them in white (I wish I had have brought me a white one in fact)
GO THE Q's
Very nice Clunk71, I have seen your Patrol somewhere but I can't remember where mate.
Very nice. I like the GQ's.
Thanks Guys, just got back from a quick trip up to Jurien bay with the family, so didn't try out anything strenuous. I have to say, it was one of the most comfortable 3 hour drives I've ever done.
very nice mate, thanks for uploading some pics of ur rig
I actually like your front bar. Very clean straight shiny Gq. On ya.
Tim
Cheers Finly, I'm pretty damn pleased with her that's for sure. I also like the front bar but feel the bottom bar hangs too low. My mate is actually going to be cutting it off on Sunday, ready for our day out on Monday. Will definitely help with some clearance issues I had previously.
Welcome to the best.site around mate, nice.looking rig:bigthumbup:
Nice, where's the last 2 photos taken??
this stuff was pretty compact, was just like drivin on a dirt road. I also haven't tried the real loose stuff yet but that day will come for sure.
sheet...my spelling isn't the best!
its 2011!!!!!!!!
I would't mind giving these a try one day when me and my bus are all grown up lol. They can be found on the way to Cervantes, couple of hours north of Perth. There's quite a few of these dunes dotted around and they're bloody huge
WOW, that is some spectular senery......
when are we going????
I have to say . that is one tough looking GQ
You guys will love the sand when you finally get to some. NissPat you should plan a trip down and over to Robe in SA mate, great driving there and not that far from you.
You guys will find that the soft sand will drag all of your power out and it is unlike any other thing to drive on. ONce you get your head around it its great fun.
Rule #1 for soft sand driving ===> WHEN IN DOUBT, LET THE AIR OUT! (dropping to 15psi, 13psi, 12psi is not out of the question)
Rule #2 for soft sand driving ===> MOMENTUM WINS THE RACE - dont stop, if your moving your winning.
Great looking rig mate, love the whities!
Exactly what I'm looking for.
Ok, so here's the result of chopping off the bottom part of the bull baryesterday. Decided to test it out today. Clearance is so much better now.
We actually found the tiniest of puddles to play in too and the result being the 60 series coughing, spluttering and breaking down for the rest of the day........ oops
Couple more photos of that day, just working out how to use the photobucket thingy.

nice clean unit clunk!
mine is virtually exactly the same ... white '93 GQ with exactly the same bull bar [but without the side bars that run to the step rails]. i'm guessing my bullbar was made by the same guy/company, seeing as i got my patrol from up in the perth hills [mundaring].
my GQ's got a snorkel though ... one of those probs would have got you safely through that puddle you played in ... ; ].
ps good idea to cut off the bottom of the bullbar ... i may do the same, as it obviously makes sense clearance-wise.
any problems i should look out for when/after operating?
It's made a big difference and have had no problems since doing it. Whereas previously had trouble with alot of the sections coz of the bar hanging down too low and kept digging in to the ground (also no lift kit as yet, which would of helped).
So we cut the tubes off first, peeled back the flashing on the vertical bars, also had to cut off a couple of inches from the bottom of the verticles at an angle. Couldn't make it flush with the bottom of the bumper because of how it attaches to the cars chassis.
Welded the flashing back, then the bus was good to go.
The bullbar was made by Irvin bullbars, their new ones don't hang down so low.
Thats a nice tidy looking Q mate, looks like your havin fun in it :bananarock:
Great photos there mate, thanks for sharing them with ushttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/
Just a few pics of when me mate modified me bull bar for me. apologies for the quality on pics 2 to 5, they were taken on my phone, which isn't as fancy as one of those Iphone 4 thingumies.
Before the chop

I did like the look of it with no bar on the front - might have to go for a more minimalist looking bar when funds permit

bit more room for recovery works
now just gotta get her bogged to try out the extra space
well I did really like the look of the bar originally but it did get in the way big time.......... had to come off for sure lol
roll on winter rain and more rain = mud luvly mud
hopefully I'll have it lifted and new tyres by then, oh and hopefully a snorkel lol
hopefully itll all be ready
dont know it there taller but ive got the springs shokies steering damper of the G U
they came off at around 15,000 lkm wonder if they might fit ???????
the G U without a lift kit is taller than a G Q i believe to look at
have to ask the boys on here
if your interested ??????
Looks good mate, I need to cut mine down too, always hitting the lower bar when climbing out of bog holes or steep hills, etc.
