Anzac Day fast approaching the cheats will be at it again!,,
There is a story on Ch 7 Today Tonight at 1830hrs 24 Apr regarding the Hines brothers and exposing fake veterans.
It's also sad to see real veterans adding medals that they aren't entitled to, to embellish there service.

Yes, it's a running joke in my circle of army mates, we try and out story tell about black ops we have been on, so secret the army didn't even know.......we try and out bullshit each other just like the wankers on fraudster website :)
There's no need to embellish ....... They must have some real issues. It's an insult to all who have served!
After my folks died my sister decided to keep everything of my parents, Including my fathers Medals
Am I able to get a second set struck so I can pass them on to my boys ???? Very frustrated this time of year
because of this issue,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Lest we forget
We had a copy of my Grandads WW1 medals made for a display I made of buttons, badges, helmet ornaments etc he bought back from Galipolli and France.
We also had some miniatures made for the kids to wear at School and Anzac services.
They were done by Christies in Sydney.
So yes you can get them but I dont think they put the recipients name on the side like the genuine ones.
Hey NP you aren't a Buddy by any chance are you

Was having a good old chat yesterday to a digger who fought at Tobruk and he was a funny bugger....... he said it was not the loud mouth talky ones you had to watch out for it was the small quiet guy... when the shit hit the fan you would get these guys going off a specially in hand to hand!!!
Buddies is a Facebook group for past and present members of the RAR, quite a few guys in there very passionate about medals.
I was in 98-11, mainly Brissie but also spent time in Darwin and Perth.

Dad did a stint in the army and then the airforce swapping from Squad 13 to the 30 Squadron , think they were the Lancaster/ Beaufort bombers mainly based in Darwin
was there when it was bombed he was a radio operator,[morse code} fondly remember him tapping out messages on the kitchen table.
Few mates in my 4x4 club are ex Nam.
Well said Russ,
Unfortunately, we have these squeezers living amongst us! I only attend the dawn service now to pay my respects. I only socialise with a couple of army mates at lunch at a local restaurant to avoid all the bullshit!
PS, all the best for ANZAC day mate!
Regards,
Paul
Folks,
Technology is fantastic these days, we can check a persons military history via various websites, mobile phones take fantastic photos, if in doubt about a suspect person wearing false and bogus medals or just plain bull-shiting there service, take a photo and send it to DVA fraud investigations or better still, ANZMI website for investigation.
PS, all the best for ANZAC day!

RLI
I just heard on the radio that theives broke into a house and stole war medals..... What low lifes.
FanTapstic!
I joined the army without them knowing, wearing an invisible suit on black ops....these 18 medals I have include VC, bravery bar, citation, Purple Heart blah... And I wear the Sandy beret.....
This is the BS hype they sprog and wonder why they are caught out.
Paul and others.....have a great day

Have a good day guys, Will be attending the service at work and then its of to take my wife and kids for breaky to celebrate the wifes birthday then its of to watch the march........
G'day mate,
We had a fantastic dawn service in Coffs Harbour, unfortunately i had to question a fark-stick like the one identified in the TV report! This cock-head was wearing a VC. I ripped the fake medals from his chest and two mates and i frog marched the prick from the Coffs ex services club.
Regards,
RLI
Will we see you on the news tonight? Well spotted and well done. A VC what a clown
Well done RLI, was down at the Regiment for the dawn service this morning which was a excellent service and had Cpl Donaldson VC standing beside us while munchkin was making his mark and signing a 1 off painting to go in the Regiment museum. Medal cheats must have something wrong with them to do crap like that.
Anywho thought I would also post a pic of the painting to lighten the thread.

wish I was back in Perth, the dawn service up here was probably the ,,,,,,well lets say it wasn't very good, compared to the last 2 years down Perth way......and I was very jealious when I heard the engineers start theirs, who just down the road next year I think I will be heading back to the engineer brotherhood and spending it with them...........all in all I still got all chocked up when I went to the memorial for smithy who was a very good doggie mate of mine when we where both in CER together.........to all that have given the ultimate sacrifice you will not be forgotten.......but I still ask and question as to why there are still members out there who go around placing tin on their suits? why do they do this not only does it embarrasses the nation for having imposters but makes them look like dicks.......any way all have a great day to all

Changes to the Defence Act regarding Stolen Valour
24 April 2013
The Government has today announced that it will seek an amendment to the Defence Act to make it an offence for people to wear a service medal in a manner that falsely indicates that it has been conferred on them, when it has not.
Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Senator David Feeney said the proposed amendment will address concerns expressed by the veterans’ community over the incorrect wearing of unofficial decorations.
“We will be amending the Defence Act to include an offence of wearing an unofficial service decoration on the left breast,” Senator Feeney said.
An unofficial service decoration is one that has not been officially conferred on an individual.
“The proposed offence will be in addition to the protections for service decorations that are already contained in the Defence Act, and is in line with suggested changes to the Defence Act that have been raised by veterans and the Prime Ministerial Advisory Council on Ex-Service Matters,” Senator Feeney said.
The amendment will also be in line with Commonwealth guidance regarding the wearing of unofficial service decorations that appears on the Government’s ‘It’s an Honour’ website.
“Such an amendment is an example of the Government’s commitment to veterans and former members of the Defence Force and the honour system that reflects the sacrifices they have made for our country and people,” Senator Feeney said.

G'day Russ,
I wish i had met this farken imbecilic scum-bag on ANZAC day, it was bad enough removing a dick-brain from Coffs Harbour RSL wearing a VC, if i had come across this scrote, i would have had the pleasure of shoving all those farken tin medals up his arse!
Regards,
RLI
What the hell? No-one can obtain that many, some I am not sure of but 3-4 AASM's with 3-4 bars each, looks like 3-4 possibly UN medals on the bottom row. The photo is pretty blurry on the phone which makes it hard.
