I believe the forum is on faceache but i have NFI this is as technomologically savvy as i get ;-)

not on facebook - this statement I guess would apply to the forum as much as to facebook - 'If you are not paying, you are part of the product.' A quote from a Google exec I think.
But, importantly, this forum hasn't been, so far as I know :-) mucking around with privacy settings etc.
Plus, Richie Rich of former Onetell fame has not said that he has paid for data from this forum to undertake 'deep data mining' to establish user preferences etc. I heard him interviewed in relation to exactly that with either Google or facebook.
It is just that I don't really understand facebook fully, don't see them as benign, and also see them as a target for hackers etc, so I don't play in that space. It could well be that my concerns are completely misguided - at the moment I am applying when in doubt, don't.
Sound reasoning - I use it to keep in contact with family & friends who've moved away etc. but don't tend to get on there often - not on here much of late either but would spend more time here than there.. Was just wondering

Well yes I am on faceache, started with just keeping in touch with interstate friends but there are a lot of other things there as well.

well, sorry to buck the trend, but have fb myself, along with skype. Only way to keep in touch with my mates over there in Australia without being ripped off by the telcos. That and I do use it to network (read finding people to get me free stuff for my project, nothing yet but give it time) LOL
