G'day,
My Mav makes a lightish clunk when brakes are applied eg in a car park situation, reverse, brake, drive forward, brake, clunk.
Now, nothing under the seat is rolling around, I haven't run into anything at the time I hear the clunk).
What should I be checking? I know a little bit about radius arm bushes but not much. I don't feel it in the front floor, which I gather is common with radius arm bushes.

Put a spanner over everything in the front end, steering and suspension. I know you said you can't feel anything but have a close look at the radius arm bushes anyway.
Check the drag link and tie rod ball joints/rod ends for wear.
Have a close look at the front brakes, make sure everything is tight and the pads are a neat fit in the slides.

Other than that, as Tony said, check all joints, bushes for wear, nuts/bolts etc on all suspension items on the front end .. and maybe check brake calipers/bolts and wheel nuts also (remote chance of being these, but if you're under there, you may as well check them!!).

I did replace bearings from the swivel hubs out, and the brake linings, so will arrange some time on Sunday mid morning on to get comfy underneath and tighten everything up. Thanks for the tips, there are a few things there I wouldn't have thought would be candidates, but were disturbed in the rebuild.

have you checked for the pads actually slippig back and forwards on their retainers? Its usually a cruiser problem but it can happen on most vehicles. pbr makes a specific glue for this purpose, i forget what its called, but it helps the pad backing to stick to the piston to stop it clunking backwards and forwards. It may only move a little but it can make a serious sounding noise. Also if the retainers are worn and allow more play or if you have aftermarket pads that do not fit as well as genuine that can cause it.
