Greetings. After much research, test drove Patrol on the weekend and am very keen to pull the trigger.
Kids went nuts mainly because of leather seats I think (we have cloth in the Prado GXL). Yes, I know, ... forgive me...

Interestingly, the charming bloke in sales said as soon as I pay deposit I'll only have to wait 6months to cough up grand total of near enough to $85,000 - for Ti with zero options.

We have large family and a boat so more space and grunt will be handy.

Price of Patrol and every other large 4WD seems to have gone up about $10000 in last 12 months.
Is there any advice about buying a new one? What are people actually paying?

Other question, if that's OK, would be about a rod holder. (We do a bit of beach fishing so 13foot surf rods and driving from gutter to gutter)
Is there some way of mounting a rod holder other than putting it on a $2500 bull bar?!!

Rodlok used to make a magnetic one but they seem to have vanished.

Any advice appreciated.

In my surf fishing days as a child we used electrical
wire and secured our 18ft Indian bamboo one piece rods to the
door handles of Dads FC holden station wagon.
Dont like those rocket launcher bullbar mounted ones.
Maybe some stylish roof bars ??.
