Interesting idea I like that.
I have seen a video of this method going wrong. The tyre flew out sideways! looked damn dodgy! but it was on mud and the tyre was pumped up more.
Also seen a video on a crest of a sand ridge to stop pulling recovered vehicle through the ridge.
Good trick to remember.
Saw it demonstrated by the late Malcolm Douglas in one of his TV shows - generated the right angles at the right time.
Can't see it may have to look later
If it is good enough for the mighty douglas, it is good enough for me.
