ZD30 can i remove entire EGR system. Or will computer have a fit???

While doing some other work and cursing at how cluttered things are, I looked at all the EGR plumbing and thought rather than inserting a blanking plate I wonder if I could remove the whole system. It would mean making a blanking plate where it enters the manifold and another at the exhaust end, to blank off the holes that would be left. It would certainly declutter that area.
Question is if I did this and simply disconnect the EGR solenoid and turf everything, will the computer have a mental breakdown, and cause other problems.?

I don't know the full extent of things but i thought people did a blanking plate on those with a small hole in them to stop the computer getting too upset about things.. You could always put a blanking plate in and disconnect the solenoid but leave all the bits physically attached and see what it does.

Some do remove EGR assy.

DI/CRD _ Not sure if has to be electrically connected or not though_try it as stated @0-TJ-0 .
DI can be physically blocked_no fault code.

CRD may give fault code_need scan tool to clear. The MIL illumination wont hurt anything just annoying. The ECU can learn and ongoing fault codes may not re appear. Can turn off with ECU remap.
For CRD there is a in_series resistor mod (pink wire at MAF sensor) that I understand tricks the ECU, but may still need to have it electrically connected.

The CRD will require a small hole in the blanking plate and highly recommend a Scan guage
The Di only have a full plate, I heard it takes the thinking away from the computer and turbo runs only
from exhaust gasses,,, happy to be wrong but thats my take on things

Im in the proccess of replacing the IP at the moment, its one of those jobs I was going to get around to [blanking EGR ] but as i have so much stuff removed its easy to get at ,at the moment.
Has anyone simply disconnected the loom going to the solenoid/valve, as that would have the same effect on computer as if I had removed the whole shibang. I think???
