Hey guys,
Been doing heaps of research and majority of threads people have removed the whole dash. I did read one thread where if you remove the glovebox and disconnect the ac evap core you can get to it really easy without taking the whole dash out.
Has anyone else done this? Is it easy to take the ac evap out through the firewall and not damage the seals so it can be regassed easily enough? Or am i better just removing the whole dash?

I however can't remember whether it was a dash out job.

Cool thanks Hodge I got cracking on it last night. I did it from under the glovebox. Ac does need to be degassed to do it this way if anyone else is wondering..
Ac regas is far cheaper and quicker than pulling out entire dashQuote:

Yeah it was pretty straight forward TBH the hardest art for me was my second battery is mounted directly where the heater and ac lines go through the firewall so had to pull the battery out.
Apart from that i recon it would take all of an hour max in and out.
These are the steps i did. I did
*Have AC degassed
*Remove ac lines from fire wall (2 bolts a 10mm and a 12mm from memory) 2 lines come off. Be careful mine still had a bit of gas and sprayed dye in my face :)
*Remove two heater hoses from firewall
*Remove glove box only a few screws holding in.
*Remove black fan box held in by think is was 5 screws with 10mm hex heads.
*Whole box should now slide out and you will be be able to access the heater core behind the centre of the dash. Its held in with a plastic clip. Undo the screws that hold the heater pipes to the core. Be careful not to damage the plastic washer and rubber as you pull of as you will need to reuse unless you bought new ones.
*put new core in slot and reattach the pipes (8screws) make sure nice and snug so no leaks.
*If you look in the black box on the side there will most likely be a heap of leaves and crap. I vacummed this all out then slot back into the firewall.
*Reattach all the screws and glove box.
*Reattach heater hoses and AC lines at firewall.
*I ran the car with the radiator cap off to bleed out the air and topped up to suit. the gus constantly run coolant through the heater core so you can do this with or without the heater turned to hot.
job done. Brink beer! I havent regassed my AC yet as its cold but cant see any issues. Sure saves pulling the whole dash out!
