Coolant issue

Gday all, about a month ago I gave the wagon a bit of a birthday and replaced the rubber hose that goes from below the thermostat housing to the bottom of the expansion tank, and also replaced the water pump. Since doing these 2 things I'm constantly topping up the expansion tank ( where the recovery cap goes) and the autron temp gauge seem to fluctuate more than it used to ( not over heating) what's everyone's thought?? I keep thinking that there may be air stuck in there somewhere?? Its an '04 td42, and I've just done over 4000ks over the last 2 weeks, from Tassie to coffs harbor via Dubbo, then back down the coast, I'd have thought that any air would have come out by now??Thanks in advance.

G’day mate, in regards bleeding the system they do like to have the front end raised a bit to assist. (Gutter parked or jacked up) I also have used a 1.25L upside down 1/2 Coke bottle and some tape to snuggly fit the radiator for filling. Keeps the water filling level higher and you can watch the bleed occurring easier. Cheers!
EDIT: 50/50 Bursons own brand green coolant seems to work fine for ours.

Sweet, bit fancier than my Coke bottle mate although not sure if it is a sealed connection to trickle raised coolant in with each burp over say 30mins.
The raising of the vehicles front end apparently helps sneaky hidden pockets of air work their way out too.

I'll try jacking the front up and rather than having the funnel on the expansion tank ,I'll put it directly on the radiator.

Get onto eBay and buy a coolant bleeder. I think they are around $30 or so. Best thing I have in my shed. Use it heaps.

Judt had a look on Ebay and the only thing I could find in regards to a coolant bleeder were bleeder screws ?
