Oil Leak Turbo Oil return Line

2003 Td42Ti

I have an oil leak where i can see is between the flange on the oil return under the turbo.

I have replaced the gasket 3 times. Genuine Nissan one from Patrol Parts.
I have used sealant.

On the 3rd attempt I have even lightly sanded to make sure its flat.
After a few days drive I see oil weeping between the flange where the gasket and sealant is.
My mechanic mate has helped me too. We are at a lost.

I degrease to keep an eye on it and surely enough after a few days It seems like weeping comes from there and then runs down the metal pipe.

have checked Oil feed line and its dry as. Looked carefully underneath to make sure its not coming from top to side and running down.
Very odd.

Anyone came across this?

Yeah strange.

Assuming there's no scratches on turbo where the flange bolts over?

100% leaking from the oil flange to turbo not from the actual bolts of flange?

Warped flange on oil drain?

Too much oil pressure?

Assuming the bolts aren't coming loose?

Just my initial thoughts. It's happened to me but only when I had the turbo off 43 times and forgot tighten bolts up properly.

Oil return pipe and hole on block is all clear and a direct path from turbo to block?

Can you please take photo showing turbo leak and photo of turbo to block pipe?

i put the new gasket and sealant on monday. I degreased an hour ago to make sure its not old oil.
Ill take a picture so you can see the clean part when its abit darker later with a light so it looks clearer

then ill take a pic few days later of it weeping.

Definately not blocked because when we undo. No extra oil is built up in pipe.
bolts not loose because we have to apply pressure to undo.

Im seriously wondering if warpage has occured or we are both crap at smearing sealant lol

Yeah you shouldn't need any sealant at all. Flange, gasket and turbo is fine.

Have you always used sealant on that?

First time yes.
So I thought crap sealant.

Then second time non Sealant. Just the Genuine Nissan Gasket from Patrol Parts

Third time different grey sealant with the gasket from patrol parts.

Unless Patrol parts giving me fake gaskets lol

All done by my mechanic who does many turbo cars. He has checked. Oil not coming from anywhere else.
Cant be a "Patrol Thing" like the gear chatter haha.

Sorry mate just making sure, so each time 100% clean surfaces on both sides and no nicks or cuts on either plates?

It should be simple but if that's all good then look at warped drain or turbo or too much oil pressure and or blocked or inadequate drain building back pressure.

Mate dont say sorry. Always appreciate your help.

I was even thinking crack on weld where tube joins flange but then i see the oil seeping between the two flanges so its higher than the weld.
